And you want Buhari to remain with all this hunger? I don't think Nigerians have been this hungry ever, besides the war. The only comparable times we had this hunger was when Abacha (Buhari was PTDF Chair) and, wait for it.....when Buhari was Military Head of State. He chased people from work and seized their businesses and stopped free flow of trade and FX. He also stopped free feeding and laundry in Nigerian Universities. If only the Nigerian youth know what University education used to be like before uneducated Buhari killed it, they would never, ever, ever have voted for him. Four people used to share one chicken for lunch (sister each). You have 3 meal tickets per day. You can give it to your family and friends when they come to visit. There was Quaker Oats, Peak Milk, Bread, Eggs, Irish potato, Rice, Beans, Soups, Butter etc....in government higher institution canteens (no single private university in Nigeria then). Free laundry. You have a basket outside your hostel, you drop dirty clothes in them (people didn't usually steal then) and the bring back washed and pressed clothes. Maximum per room was 2 persons or 1. Buhari came and canceled it's all. 1. Buhari cancelled free feeding and laundry 2. He imposed WAI and sent soldiers to markets to beat store owners to control prices and throw away their goods. Akara sellers had their wares scattered, that no selling by the road sides 3. We had Lennards, Bata, Kingsway, Leventis (our own version of Walmart, yep, right here in Nigeria), they started closing shop due to poor/stringent economic situation 4. He imprisoned all the other major languages (Ekwueme etc) but let Shagari the Fulani head of State out of prison. 5. He devalued our currency 6. He sacked about 30% of civil servants. Some worked for up to 10years without pensions. Pension qualification later became 10years but they were never compensated 7. During PTDF the roads and hospitals in the North were upgraded. After bitter complaints he was forced to take some up south/east 8. His late son inlaw became a rich man from PTDF related contracts 9. There was hunger 10. There was plenty hunger Now look at Nigeria and tell me if history is not repeating itself. And to say we want him back for 2019? We dey craze?!!!!! 6 Likes |

This is what poverty can cause. Sadly, this is the system that favours the elite. How on earth should Nigeria even import agro produce. |

Why the surprise or shock? It's the Nigerian way. Are we not selling oyibo throway in bend down all over the streets of Nigeria? Are we not repackaging expired foodstuffs? Any disposal which is not followed to total destruction ends up like this. Some years back mtn was disposing of bad Sim cards. They did not destroy them, and so the cards found their way into the market. It's Nigerians and 'hustling' |
