However, in sane countries it is a crime to sell or buy counterfeit products e.g pharmaceuticals products, accessories, clothings, gadgets, luxury items even intellectual property. In this case, I agree with Freeze.

I would not be telling the truth completely if I say I only purchase original products especially during my younger age. However, as you get older and your earnings or earning potentials increases, there is the tendency to want to acquire original brands because of warranties, durability and authenticity. Also, the ability to resell them, if they have a secondary market.

Freeze cannot completely absolve himself and claim a higher moral grounds of only buying original items or posit himself that he has never purchased any fake item intentionally or unintentionally. This is where I do not agree with Freeze. Many of the products in Nigeria are counterfeit because not a lot of people can afford the originals. Also, the Chinese are craft masters of duplication.

In the case of these celebrities wearing counterfeit products, it may be ignorance or willingful blindness, whichever the case, we don’t know. However, because they are public figures and their pathological way of showing off, there is a huge responsibility on them to ensure they patronize and procure only original items.
