Before you start a transport business, you should consider among other things:
1. A vehicle that is relatively cheap to buy, maintain and SAVES GAS.
2. Vehicles whose parts are easy to source
3. Get a good mechanic for the type of car you intend to buy.
Below, I listed (but not exhaustive) vehicles that are good for transportation (taxi) business. I used Nigeria as a reference because not all car can withstand our climate, and bad roads without spending a fortune to fix.


1. Volkwagen Jetta an Golf: avoid 1.3L engines
Pros: Good fuel economy, cheap maintenance, rugged, and speedy.
cons: Low safety devices(no airbag in some), oil switch gets bad easily, “velocity” may pull out if not well maintained, door handle gets bad easily, roof may go bad(remember this model is old and even if you buy tokunbo, some parts have well passed expiration date. In all, it is a good car.


2. Volkswagen Sharan/Ford Galaxy/Seat Alhambra:
VW Sharon, Ford Galaxy and Seat Alahambra all look similar. Their parts are similar too.
Pros: Good fuel economy, cheap to maintain, dual airbag.
Con: AVOID AUTOMATIC DRIVES. Avoid VR6 (6cylinders) if you want better fuel mileage. Door handles gets bad easily, roof may go bad.

3. Mazda 323:
Pros: Good fuel economy, cheap maintenance, rugged, and speedy.
cons: Low safety devices(no airbag in some), In all, it is a good car.
Pros: fair fuel economy, cheap maintenance, In all, it is a good car.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS MODEL.
Cons: Engine wears down and smokes between 8-1.2years of constant use.

4. Toyota: Corolla, Hiace, etc. This can not be over emphasized.
