After the destruction during the civil war, when does the reconstruction happened? Also, at what cost? In the transition period between the war and the reconstruction, how were vehicles passing to the eastern part? Was it by make shift bridge or boat like means? Op, we need more research and that can be extended to why the 2nd Niger bridge is not ready till now, what progress is being made on the 2nd Niger bridge if there is any. Thanks.

Imagine the bridge took just a year to complete ( 1964-65) and yet ordinary flyover project that is less than half a mile will take the government about 3years to complete. God forbid both past and present administrations undecided

FACT 14

The bridge is long overdue to have a brother but the Federal Government does not give a damn about it because it is in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

If Lagos can have 4 mainland bridges, why should Onitsha and the gateway to Eastern Nigeria have just one?

If you're not being sarcastic, then give the current Federal Government its own 16 years of breathing space - as you generously granted the previous set of regimes but had not much to show for it - and see whether or not the Niger Bridge will have at least one modern, completed brother within this other time span.

E.wedu brain, the road is a federal road, it connect to many states both east and west all tribes use the bridge, how do you expect eastern governor to construct second Niger bridge are you OK? There are many bridges within Anambra constructed by the state government, Obiano within three years flagged off 12 bridges completed 5 others are still going on.

This is one of the bridges he constructed.

They used ferry transport system. But the construction of the bridge made it unnecessary and obsolete.

I don't see you as someone who's serious about most of your posts, but the above caught my attention...
There is also a bridge in the North linking the south and North that is also over due yet the Federal Government haven't done nothing about it...
Federal Government is doing nothing about the bridges so don't say it's because it's in the south...
The Federal Government is neglecting core issues regardless of location...
