Scrap quota system, and watch this country thrive on merit.

I have no problem with scrapping of quota system that exist with employment.

But a federal unity school is by the very purpose of it a quota enabled education system that has been conceived for the sole purpose of bringing diverse Nigerian kids together.

Southerners should stop lamenting over their own high admission cut off within their own states, as their competition to get into those schools is limited to candidates of that state alone who are all competing to fill up slots that have been allocated to their state.

The Zamfara students are also competing to fill up slots that have been assigned to their own states too, hence the very low marks there as there really is no competition. The rest of the slots OWNED by Zamfara will still end up being redistributed among states who have already filled their OWN allocated slots too.

Anyone who is not satisfied or interested with the federal unity schools should apply to the litany of state public schools and private schools that do not enjoy the federal subsidy enjoyed by the federal unity schools, and move on with their lives without the misplaced bitterness exhibited every admission cycle.

Unless they are saying the number of primary schools in a whole state is not up to 28 when 1 local government area in the south can boast of over 28 schools meaning at least 1 student from each school.

I served in Zamfara state. I think the people of that state are the architect of their own misfortune.Their Government have virtually provided everything that I think can make education easier for them;free food daily, free boarding schools, nice and conducive school environment to learn and others... If I get such incentives while I was schooling enh en.... What else do they want?

The same ideology behind federal unity schools, is the same one with NYSC... and how has Nigeria fared so far?
We are just sacrificing merits on the alter of quota system, and that is why we will keep running in cycles.

The only education to them is Quran, which in other hand encouraged them to maim and annihilate infidels. How will this country improve with this level of ignorance from some set of people. Education is key to any success in life but these people believe knowing Quran alone is sufficient. I give up on this country.

So to u Arabic and Sunday school classes are not part of education right ? . are u saying without pure and applied physics , chemistry , Law , medicine, Biology , history and international study we cant build irrigation for farming, build good roads and make life comfortable to citizens our citizens?

See, Majorities of Muslim powerful countries today don't speaks good English nor respected american doctrine yet , they are winning big ... We Nigeria Elites should look beyond encouraging our wards to be going to school at the detriment of of our own development ....

Being an illiterate doesn't mean we can't build good road , better housing units, nice security, make this Sithole country to be nice hole for living .. So far so good, the essence of going to school is how to communicates in different languages..

Did our parents study Law before they beat/corrected us for our wronged doing,? How many Chinese engineer can speaks perfectly in English and they are 1millions ahead of us in good governance ...

Exactly my point. How would this country improve against tribalism and religion intolerance with ignorant like you who thought the Quran teaches killing but failing to see where it says killing one innocent person is like killing the whole of humanity.
Tell me if your holy book did not talk about killing adulterers and punishing child for the sin of the parents

Acidosis:

The other kids are being trained to be the next generation boko haram, almajiri, and Fulani herdsmen. They're being trained to disturb kids that are currently in school in the near future.

This is how Nigeria has been recycling illiteracy. The population of those out of school, of course, will surpass the 32, and they will decide who should be president over everyone, including those in schools. After training your kids to be Developmental Economists, Petroleum Economists, etc., these illiterates will get the voter card and decide for your children the ideal president.

Like what we have now, the educated ones will do nothing but sit on the Internet and their homes to complain, groan and wait for appointments from the illiterate political lords.
