Nine policemen were among those killed during Thursday’s robbery attack in Offa town in Kwara State as the death toll keeps rising. Over 25 armed robbers had stormed the town, raiding five commercial banks along the Owode Market Area of the town in Offa Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen arrived the town in seven vehicles and stationed themselves in each of the banks around 4:30 pm.

The armed robbers were said to have made away with several millions of naira from the banks.

A policeman has reacted to the death of his colleagues in the Offa robbery by saying they are not going to hide themselves because death is everywhere.

He took to Facebook to post pictures of him and another colleague with their guns as he wrote; We are not going to hide ourselves because we know the is death everywhere even in the village we prayed for long life,May God protect us

A drastic reform is needed to help the Police personnels in carrying out their job effectively. Enough man power should be employed, good incentives, good welfare packages should be put in place for them and their families.

When an average policeman looks at how much he goes home with at the end of the month, year and his take home retirement package, he will never put his life on the line to protect the country.

Enough about the bad police men , yes in every organization there are bad eggs, in the army, navy, Air Force, teachers, the cooperate world. Everywhere, there are bad and good people in every organization.

There are good policemen out there too. All we need to better give them a morale boost is to have a good legislation for them. For their family.

We pump money into the Military, army, navy and the air force. How much is being pumped into the police force? We need more budget and good administration in the police service commission. This will go a long way in safeguarding lives and properties and a better policing of the nation at large.

We need a serious change in the POLICE FORCE.
