The peace loving community of Umunobe Ogbunka in Orumba South LGA, of Anambra State was struck with tragedy on Sunday when the tragic death of Mr Chukwuemeka Ezeabikwa broke out.

Late Mr Chukwuemeka Ezeabikwa came back from Gabon in January to be with his family after been away for almost five years.


According to report gathered by our reporter from a family member, he said late Mr Chukwuemeka's wife had an altercation with her mother in-law which led to the damage of the mother in-inlaw's phone. When Mr Chukwuemeka came back and they narrated what happened to him between his wife and the mother, they said he wasn't happy with the actions of his wife towards his mother and he pleaded with his mother to forgive his wife and promised to get the mother a new phone.


However, according to report, they said the mother told his other children what was going on in the village which made her other children to come back home.

An eye witness said that the other members of the family wanted to beat up late Mr Chukwuemeka's wife which made the deceased to stand in the defence of his wife, afterall he had already reprimandad his wife and promised to replace the mother's phone. As he was protecting his wife, they decended on him, in the process his younger brother stabbed him in some delicate parts of the body which made him  bled profusely.


Late Mr Chukwuemeka was rushed to the hospital by those around including his younger brother who stabbed him whose name is Kelechi.

"Those who rushed him to the hospital were surprised when the Doctor who was on board confirmed him dead"


According to report, when his younger brother heard that Mr Chukwuemeka is dead, they said he wanted to run but those present amongst whom was Rev Fr Paschal Ikenna Nwankwo, C.Ss, held him back and told him that he must face the law for murdering his brother.

As at the time of filing this report, Mr Kelechi is in the police custody as police begins investigations into the matter.

Late Mr Chukwuemeka is survived by a wife and three children.
