Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Newbeginnings(m): 1:39am On Apr 11, 2018 |
Recently I made an interesting discovery, that one day I am going to die, that I am going to leave this world and all there is and that I am either going to go back to the dust in an eternal sleep (forever), according to the atheists and I will cease to exist or I will go to heaven and meet my maker according to Christians. So I rushed back to the Bible and something lead to another, I came across this tithing issue... I looked through the Old Testament and saw something very interesting. Deuteronomy 14:22 "You must set aside a tithe of your crops - one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year." I don't know why people pay their tithe every month when it clearly states that it should be paid yearly, but that is not what I want you to focus on Deuteronomy 14:23 "Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship - the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored - and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God" This part tells us to bring our tithe to the house of the Lord (the church) and for us to eat our tithe. Mark those words, it never said we should submit our tithe for the welfare of the church or the welfare of the pastors, it said we should eat it for our own selves. Now, what about if our tithe are not grains or livestock but money.... here is what the Lord has to say about that. Deuteronomy 14: 24-26 Verse 24 "Now when the Lord your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe." Verse 25 "If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the Lord your God has chosen" Verse 26 "When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of you want - cattle, sheep, goats, wine or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the Lord your God and celebrate with your household." Once again the Lord asks us to eat our tithe and not to give it to the church, he asks us to bring it to the church every year and feast and not to give it to our pastors. If you read from Verse 28 - 29 You will see where the Lord talks about giving to the Levites (the pastors), according to the bible, they are not supposed to own lands or private jets or businesses, the Lord provides for them, by asking us to give the entire tithe of the third year to the Levites, widows, orphans and so on... So according to the Bible, the tithe of the third year belongs to the Pastors, widows, orphans and possibly the welfare of the church. Now you might say there is nothing wrong with paying tithe monthly or paying it whenever you want. That all that matters is the fact that you pay with your whole heart and give willingly. Let's look at what the book of revelations talks about adding or subtracting from the word of God. Revelations 22:18-19 Verse 18 "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in the book. If anyone adds anything to what is written here. God will add to that person the plagues described in this book" Verse 19 "And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city that is described in this book" So I wonder why people no longer follow the word of God but follow what their pastors tell them. Or is God now too small, far and invisible for you to obey him and you prefer the pastor you see and touch? I think Christians should start reading their bible more these days. Your tithe was never meant to be used as salaries for the pastors or help them build houses or build more churches, no God has his own plan and it doesn't matter what you think you know. God wants you to enjoy your tithe in the place of worship, he wants you to eat it... I wonder why fear make many Christians disobey God in every way possible. 1 Like

brandonobi: The Bible even curses those who add or subtract from it Revelations 22:18-19 Verse 18 "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in the book. If anyone adds anything to what is written here. God will add to that person the plagues described in this book" Verse 19 "And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city that is described in this book" |

Op I don't know the problem some of u have with these "pastors" am sure u don't pay tithe at all, allow God to judge them and let those who are willing to pay to continue paying. As for the heresy u are preaching to us, don't forget that their crops produces yearly that is why they pay yearly, and when u earn monthly u pay monthly, so also for weekly. Don't just read one part of the bible and sugar coat it for us. Read wide and learn more b4 talkn. 1 Like |

Grayjoy: dear Gra.yjoy.. I think you didn't read the post at all... God gave an instruction and warned us not to add or subtract from it.. He also told us to eat our tithe in his presence and he didn't say we should give it to Pastors, he never said we should give it to the Church, but we should eat it with our householld and rejoice in his presence... This shows how bad we are misinterpreting the Bible... So I advise you to stop watching porn and BBN and go and read the bible. 1 Like |

First off, wrong section. My friend, just take a tenth of your salary and give directly to the less privileged. Better still, open an account for it. At the end of the year, donate the money to an orphanage, a hospital, prison, wherever hardship is the norm. Better than giving to your pastor to raise his standard of living |

Newbeginnings:I read ur post. Lol, porn and BBN? farfetched from my priorities. Never tuned on BBN show b4 though. My frnd, the bible said many things about tithe which I knw u haven't seen half of it. Check malachi 3, 4gotten d verse though. U will see anoda thing abt tithe there. What do u say abt d encounter Abraham had with Melchizedek the high priest? Abraham paid tithe to him, did he eat it himself. My point is, b4 u lead us in ur ways and teachings make enough research. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Newbeginnings(m): 2:27am On Apr 11, 2018 |
Grayjoy: First, you said Abraham paid tithe to the high priest... I hope you know that Genesis comes before Deutoronomy, which means the time before God gave the direction on who tithe was to be paid came after Abraham paid his tithe.. and I know you went to school and learnt past tense and present tense just as I did and I you know how to relate that. Because Our ancestors were running naked before God commanded us to wear clothes every day does not mean we should go back to walking naked just because our ancestors did so since the Lord has commanded us to do differently. According to the Bible, we should give the Priest and Levites a tenth of our earnings every three years... That is what the Bible said and I believe that Justifies Abraham's payment. Malachi chapter 3 verses 10 Bring the full amount of your tithes to the Temple, so that there will be plenty of food there. The questions you should ask yourself is how much is this tithe and how often should we pay. The Bible says we should pay yearly and eat our tithe, not in our houses but in the temple of the Lord, it says we should eat it with our household and rejoice... In the third year, the Bible asks us to give One-tenth of our earnings to the Levites, orphans, widows and to the Church. So, I ask my dear friend... Why are you disobeying God and giving your tithe to the Church every year? |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Newbeginnings(m): 2:30am On Apr 11, 2018 |
Earthbound: Actually, that is wrong too... God never asked you to do that, he said you should eat your tithe.... And when you earn on the third year... You should take one-tenth of that earning as your tithe and give it to the Levites (Pastors), Orphans, Less Privileged and so on... According to what Peter told Cornelius in the Bible if you keep doing good to people and you do it without God's will, then you are not different from a sinner. If you want to give you tithe then you should do it according to the Bible or you should never do it at all... |

Please I want to make a correction which people try to neglect in the bible, the Levites are not priests, they are the sons of Levi, Jacobs decendants, they were cursed because of their anger. Refer Genesis 49:5-7. And out of moses' mercy they were asked to be remembered and not left to perish. What the bible specifically said is the priest and levites they are two different things. I wonder why pastors of these days claims to be levites are they decendants of Levi? |

Grayjoy:wrong! When Jesus says i will build my church he never meant he was going to build any house. I don't know where you people are getting this house of God thing from . Eat your tithe, don't take it any house. Your body is God's temple better than any building you can ever think of. |

phayvoursky:giving to pastors is good. But collecting a regular compulsory payment of 10% from the income of church members in the name of tithing is very bad. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Nobody: 1:02pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
paxonel:I said what we was called house of God in dat passage is what we call church these days. Am sure u knw what Jesus preached, so cutting that passage out is uncalled for. Church is the house of God even in the bible. Although christians are also called temple of God. NB: when I say christians i dnt mean church goers. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by paxonel(m): 4:09pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
Grayjoy:what bible days? Specify please, Is it after the resurrection of Jesus or before? there is no other also... We only have one temple of God which is the body of Christ which are christians themselves. Church building is not any temple of God. It is just mere building were people gather there is nothing there . Jesus says I'm the way, that means he is the only way. Church building is not any way, Pastors don't want people to know this truth. a christian is a christian, there is nothing like church goer or non church goer before God. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Nobody: 5:45pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
paxonel:If u followed what OP said u wouldn't be misquoting me. What the bible referred to as "my house" in mal. 3:10 is what we call churches today. Op never said b4 christ or after, I never did, where u brought that 4rm is where I dnt know. I never said a building is the way, do I need to tell u dat a church building is d temple of God and should be sacred? The thing is, there are many pastors that decieve people yet there are true pastors. I love this line "there is nothing like church goer or christian b4 God" I totally agree, that is to say many who goes to church are not christians and in d eyes of God they are unbelievers same with people who do all sort of things. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by paxonel(m): 5:54pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
Grayjoy:I understand you now, I'm sorry i misquoted you hmm! Not really! Everyone who believes in Christ are christians whether they go to church or not. What makes us christians is simply the fact that we believe. Our faith! |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Nobody: 6:07pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
paxonel:Our faith? That is farfetched from the reason why the apostles were first called "christians" in Antioch. They were called so because they saw that these behave and act exactly like christ. Their lifestyle not their faith. Not because they believed that Jesus is the saviour (although that is part of it). U'll agree with me that many even prostitutes have faith in God. But can u call a prostitute a christian? How will u react if the prostitute u met a few hours ago is leading the chorus in the church u visited? Christian means christ-like, originated in Antioch used in referring to the apostles. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by paxonel(m): 6:15pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
Grayjoy:ok, you are following the origin of the name christianity. Let me remind you that name do not matter. What matters is that there was a religion, and that religion is what is known as christianity today. The religion has existed long before the event at Antioch even though it got it name at Antioch. At the point of Christ resurrection, that's when the religion started. Without resurrection no salvation. Antioch did not save anybody or give anyone eternal life. Get that? |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Nobody: 6:39pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
paxonel:There was a religion, yes I agree. But this religion is named "christianity" because those practicing that religion were living like and behaving like d founder of dat religion nt just believing in him. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by paxonel(m): 6:57pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
Grayjoy:very true! But like i said before, we are looking at the end and not the means. The end or the reason for everything is eternal life. John 3:16. We are justified into eternal life by our faith not our works. What happened at Antioch was simply works. Works is good, but even the Jews were doing works of the law long before Jesus came. Just like what christians did at Antioch they were doing good as well. Today we have Muslims and athiests doing good even more than christians. Does that mean they are saved? I don't think so 1 Like |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by Nobody: 7:15pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
paxonel:Faith without work is dead. The lifestyle we are talkn abt is nt what the jews, atheists or muslims can live, except they are christ-like. No amount of philantropism can meet up with it, no amount of kindness can beat that mark. It's a life beyound our own power and will. Unfortunately many of us can't attain dat mark. That life is what is called christianity, it's beyound sunday jamborees and being present in church. Once u are living that live, people around will bear witness of it. |
Re: Here Is This The Truth About Tithe That Pastors Won't Tell You (photos) by paxonel(m): 7:21pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
Grayjoy:so far, no one has ever bear witness that anyone except Christ has ever lived that life, confirming what the scripture says in 1 John 1:8 If we say we do not commit sin, then we made ourselves lairs Are you now saying that Christ came to die in vain? Are you suggesting that until christians live some kind of a perfect life they are not worthy to be called christians? |
