The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo has insisted that Igbo nation in Nigeria remains the most marginalised in the country.

Nwodo speaking during the 1st Ohazurume Igbo festival organized by the directorate of Igbo Village and Centre for African Civilization (IVACAC) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka said the Igbos were the worst hit, politically, economically and otherwise, despite their enormous contributions to the growth and development of the country.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo President General said the Igbo man possessed rare qualities and was not only industrious, adventurous and daring, but courageous, enterprising and versatile.

He said the above qualities were the same that attracted envy and jealousy from other tribes in the country towards him.

He listed the number of industries located in the eastern part that have gone moribund to include the cement industry at Nkalagu, breweries in Umuahia and Onitsha.

Nwodo however noted that the solution to the problems was not found in another war, just as he canvassed for restructuring of the country, which he said the Igbo apex organisation had been clamoring for.

“We can’t afford to experience another civil war. I’ll rather die than allow these youths to be killed. There are two types of warfare, the diplomatic and civil war. What I am fighting is the diplomatic war,” he said.

He challenged his audience, who were predominantly students to emulate the outstanding virtues of the late Igbo icons, most of who were celebrated at the event.

“Don’t settle for mediocrity and inferiority. Aspire for the best so you too can be celebrated”, he aid.

The Ohaneze helmsman pledged to partner with the university to ensure the Ohazurume Igbo festival was realized within the shortest time.

Igbos are the most unpredictable Tribe in Nigeria. It is never what they tell you they are doing that you find them doing. They worship money more than God. This means that they are even jealous of God. Look at Benue State, which should, as matter of nearness and commoness, be the sixth State of the SE, by some unknown reasons, the SE cannot take advantage of the opportunity. Because the Ibos cannot invest meaningfully in their Proximity, The Fulanis are coming from Futa Jalon to takeover Benue State for Cattle Grazing.

Chief Nwodo have spoken well but..

For how long are we going to blame other tribes for our woes?

For how long do we sit idly by and allow charlatans like OUK,okorocha, taorji, elechi,Egwu,Sullivan, the rogue-governors there now and the other many political bandits mortgage the future of our youths...

I hate this perception of always blaming and blaming other people, how many times do we tackle our own leaders, our own Governors,LG Chairmen,Councillors?

How many times have our own religious leaders dealt a devastating blow to our politicians,senators,etc...

How many times have we the youths reacted?

Buhari is a bigot and not worthy of leadership honestly, but charity begins at home, asides some states of the S/S,our leaders are worse off,tbh

They evoke memories of war, evoke the role of yesteryears gladiators, they evoke the angst because that is what they want us to hear, and become the protagonists of liberation....

Ohanaeze, and others....please can our Governors give account of their role(s) to S/E developmental master plan for the teeming unemployed youths?

That the S/E is marginalised is no news, very true but how long do we continue crying?
Let us leave accusations and seek economic domination which in turn has a direct effect on migration, and see political power come through.

God Bless the Igbo race
God Bless hardworking Igbo Youths
God Bless Nigeria.

You are talking about 5 years of Johnathan rule...We are talking about marginaliztion that has lasted more than 40 years.

To you Yorubas you only see marginalization in appointments. We are talking of physical development of which there are no FG presence in the SE.

"... there is virtually no federal establshment to provide jobs for the teeming youths of the zone.
The only federal presence in the zone are prisons and abandoned grain silos,” Ohaneze

Lying legend, Yorubas are most favoured in OBJ government...The few Igbos there became well known because they did well...eg Soludo, Iweala and Akuinyili...

See OBJ top appointments:

"....Funsho Kupolokun was the Group Managing Director of NNPC; Rasheed Gbadamasi was the chairman of Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency(PPPRA);Dr. Oluwole Oluleye was the secretary of PPPRA: Adebayo Sarumi was the Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA);Joseph Sanusi was the Governor of the Central Bank (CBN),where the proceeds of crude and petroleum products were been lodged; Kayode Naiyelu was the Accountant General of the Federation; Joseph Ajiboye was the Auditor General of the Federation. For those who may want raise eyebrows over this monopolization of the Nigerian economy by the Yoruba, Tafa Balogun was the Inspector General of Police. He would ensure that the people were rounded up and slammed into jail, while Bayo Ojo as the Minister of Justice..." Umar Farouk

only God can forgive you people with the way you reason sometimes. If you really believe that OBJ didn't favour SE then Perhaps you are naturally greedy as some people are saying today.
Some of the posts OBJ gave ibos are: MINISTER OF FINANCE= Ngozi.
CBN gov= charles soludo.
The above means OBJ made you the head of his economic team.
Other posts are EDUCATION, NAFDAC HEAD, INFORMATION, DEP INSP. GENERAL OF POLICE etc. These posts were held by Ezekwesili, Dora, Frank Nweke, Mike Okiro respectively.
He also appointed Paul Dike as the chief of air staff.
Don't forget that SE also held the post of senate president throughout his regime.
How dare you now talking about marginalization? What post have you not held before? If anyone should be talking about marginalization, it shouldn't be you igbos but the minority ethnic tribes like ijaws, edos, itshekiris, urhobos etc.
