Even Ibime too?? What next Sauron will get an illegal download?? Lord have mercy!!! I refuse to download it till it's release day, but I listened to My Generation on Youtube and I swear I don't know how I can survive this. Good thing I've got exams to keep me busy till then. Proof that Nas still remains a lyrics god, he released the lyrics on the album website before the album itself. Isn't that just like . . . next level?? |

Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by eldee(m): 1:41pm On May 15, 2010 |
hax: K'naan is just my artiste . . . you know how you feel when you watch the development of an artist you felt from the first day. And the fact that he makes good music just makes him my favourite artist. I'm still yet to download the album . . . you guys are pirates. |

Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by ElRazur: 4:15pm On May 15, 2010 |
I have been tracking this album and to be honest, it is one of the best things to happen to hiphop from a lyrical, educaitonal and cultural point of view. Even the papers are full of praises for it here. Kudos to them both for this one. |

tosinaded@:kelis is the reason nas has no money to pay kelis. eldee:your favourite? i appreciate the fact that he learnt english like 5 years ago and all, and he's a conscious rapper, but the problem is, his music is just. . . there. nothing to write home about, imo. |

Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by eldee(m): 7:48pm On May 15, 2010 |
hax: Erm . . . he's not even a rapper. He's the best thing that's happened to music in a long time. You obviously haven't listened to The Dusty Foot Philosopher. Ibime:Nah, I'm a Bucaneer |

Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by Ibime(m): 9:28pm On May 15, 2010 |
eldee: So you be fine boy?. . . . I knew you wasnt the warrior type! When did K'naan start singing sef?. . . . I hope he's not gonna be one of these rapper-singers. . . . nothing special about his raps IMO. . . . and his singing?. . . .well, how many octaves can his voice carry?. . . it seems everyone is a singer namadays. |
Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by eldee(m): 1:51am On May 16, 2010 |
Ibime: It's not his voice, it's his ability to compose good music. . . like a Fela or sumn. Like the Waving Flag song and Wait A Minute . . . he's next level, and his African themes just bought me. I just like the fact that people are finally beginning to recognise him. . . |

Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by hax: 11:38pm On May 16, 2010 |
eldee: what is he then? lol He's the best thing that's happened to music in a long time.*koff*stan*koff* You obviously haven't listened to The Dusty Foot Philosopher.Nope. Only Troubadour. Which didn't impress me much. chiogo: |
Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by eldee(m): 11:47pm On May 16, 2010 |
hax: He's an artist. . . it's not compulsory to put people into boxes. What will you call Damian Marley?? Dancehall?? Rap?? Reggae?? R'n'B?? hax: Hehe . . . that's not just my opinion, it's shared by every music critic you know. Ask the queue of artistes/producers/organisations that have endorsed him without any major marketing deal. hax:Well . . . I guess it's different strokes then. |
Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by A40(m): 12:19am On May 17, 2010 |
Who still dey buy album for 2010? No be only buy na bayo! Thats like playing Familycom or Colecovision and playing Mortal Kombat vs D.C Comics on it @Hax Dude mehn K'Naan is more than just a rapper! His music is too deep to call it just rap. He is a modern day poet, philosopher and story teller. I listen to a lot of shake bodi music but when i want to hear that meaningful ish K'Naan is one of the fellas i bump to. By the way Dusty Foot Philosopher is way better than Troubadour I recommend tracks like: Smile What's Hardcore In the Beginning In my head If Rap gets jealous |
Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by eldee(m): 12:26am On May 17, 2010 |
A-40: If someone's not impressed with T.I.A, ABCs or Waving Flag . . . there's no way he'll be able to feel songs like Soobax, I Was Stabbed By Satan and Until The Lion Learns To Speak. It's probably not just his type of music. |
Re: Distant Relatives Is Out. . . by A40(m): 3:57pm On May 17, 2010 |
@Eldee I even left out my fave song on the DFP album 'Struggling'. I take that back Dusty Foot Philosopher is about the same as Troubadour with songs like 'America' ft Mos Def and Charlie 2NA where he was speaking Somali 'People like Me' 'Bang' 'I come prepared' with Damian Marley (He killed that song) 'If Rap gets Jealous remix' Troubadour was great too. Maybe you are right he may just not like K'Naan |
