Very good. Let Abia have it's own thread just like Anambra, Enugu, Imo.

Ndi Abia should join hands and promote their state in this thread.

Please you people should calm down with this 'filled with housing estate' kind of development. Economic activities should not be limited to just houses. We should begin to incorporate Agricultural, industrial and also mining activities. Those remaining lands in the SE shouldn't be wasted on luxury housing estates. Preservation of those lands for the future is the best bet and state governments should begin to regulate mass grab of lands in the east.
Rather than push this housing agenda for greedy real estate agent to milk from, I think government must begin to demarcate certain LGA's as industrial areas as well as for agricultural belts. The few lands in the east must be protected at all cost from land grabbers.

Thank you my brother.

We have other things that can make a city - medical tourism, aviation , forest reserves etc. It doesn't have to be about housing estates.
I am tired of this housing stuff in Enugu and it seems to be for the extremely rich only , before we know it , we descend to the empty duplex syndrome of Abuja .
Further housing development s should be for the middle class just like Loma Linda estates or simply let's divest in other things.

The land agent posing as incumbent governor is the architect of this estate guzzling tide in Enugu. Waiting for his vision less tenure to be over

Don't fall prey to that handle. Trust me, their intentions have been obvious for a while. They plan opening such thread for divisive reasons.
Let he who have any meaningful thing to post about their Igbo states, post it here. The thread is large enough to contain every development stride happening in all Igbo areas.

All the lands left and right of this road for another 4 miles are for farming, and there are crops on it at intervals.

We are talking of Enugu city here. And if we Carey the same behavior to the hinterlands, you won't be seeing all these lands again. The reason you are seeing them this way is that they haven't experiences our city madness there. Let's always plan for the future

Lol. Lagos that has about 30% of its landmass taken up by the lagoon still has huge land for business and industries added to the numerous companies and markets scattered across the state, is it Enugu with over 7,000 sqkm and much lower number of houses and companies that will run out of land? Hospitality industry is clearly the largest industry in Enugu and the government cannot afford to kill that industry by restricting the sale of land and may I remind u that a large percent of Enugu's IGR comes from the sale of land to real estate agents. If at all the government is to keep land, it should be for forest reserves and parks/botanical gardens within these newly built estates to improve the aesthetics of the city. Looking at Independence layout for example, Beverly Hills comes to mind.
If in the nearest future the population of people in Enugu city doubles, there are many old structures in Obiagwu, Abakpa and even new haven etc which can be demolished for proper 4 storey houses to be built.
