Many of us specifically car owners or users have at one time or the other been stopped by officials of the FRSC popular referred to as road safety. Some have had to be fined for contravening one law or the other, and some people have also complained of being extorted. Quite a number of people however find it difficult to pinpoint what the functions of these set of people are and what it is exactly they are supposed to be doing on our roads. AutoReportNG was able to gather information and based on available information from the FRSC website and over the phone interaction with some of the officials, these are the stipulated functions of the FRSC. These are the 22 functions of the FRSC 1. Making the highway safe for motorists and other road users. 2. Recommending works and devices designed to eliminate or minimize accidents on the highways 3. Cooperating with bodies or agencies or groups in road safety activities or in the prevention of accidents on the highways 15. Making regulations in pursuance of any of the functions assigned to the Corps by or under this Act. 16.
