It’s a good car. The transmission is smooth. It’s heavier than your regular Toyota. You would feel the weight on the steering at full speed.

I drive one and I can tell you that maintenance is key. It won’t disappoint if you get a well maintained Honda Accord

I got an EOD. I have never felt the weight on the steering though.

Yes, maintenance is key. Use the right (recommended) fluids only. Change them when due.

a nigeria used honda accord 2007 for 900k and a 2009 model evil spirit for 1.25m.

which of them is a good buy??

For the cars themselves, specs, reliability, they are both very good buys.

For the price, I personally feel that each could still be slightly negotiated. Just my opinion and I may be wrong coz I haven't seen the particular cars.
But keep in mind that, for a well maintained vehicle, the owner will certainly not sell at the average price. Hell no.

For Nigerian used cars, determining a good buy would involve physical inspection of both cars.
How well did the previous owner maintain it? Look in the engine bay, are there wires flying around? Any serious oil leaks? Has any system been bypassed? Eg. brakes, ABS, radiator fans, thermostat, etc. Check the condition and level of the fluids (engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid).
Test drive it. How does it feel? (acceleration, braking, gear shifting, steering). How is the suspension? Any clinks, clunks, rattles or thuds? Is the CEL on? Scan it. What are the error codes? etc.

Cheers

Are you serious? The drivers in my office say they feel the weight too maybe because they drive smaller engine cars.

I agree, maintenance is key. I don't joke with it.

Honda is good for people that stick to manufacturer fluid and maintenance schedule... I will always prefer Honda to Toyota... A small price to pay for a better car interior, drive experience and others

That same week, I bought a well maintained 2005 Accord EOD (4-cyl). It's the same generation (7th gen) as the '07 Accord. It has never disappointed me. EVER.

did u buy a Nigeria used??

Do you have a reliable mechanic?

use the required engine oil weight for servicing 5w20

Whenever you want to service your transmission, use the recommended honda dw1 transmission oil.

Pay close attention to sounds coming from the two front tires, so you know when you have a bad ball joint and replace immediately with honda oem ball joints.

I have driven the 2003-2007 models for about 7 years now and once I have a bad ball joint, I know.

Use the recommended honda power steering fluid too.

For fluids and oil you can always get them from persons on nairaland, even when you can't get it around you.

I heard the DC V6 usually has transmission issues, how true is this?
well my 2006 dc v6 hasn't given me any transmission issue since it was purchased 6 years ago. I have only had to drain the old transmission oil and poured 4.5 litres of fresh brand new honda dw1 transmission oil in 2017, when i noticed that there was some drag on acceleration during gear change

Well said.

For fluids, don't compromise.

my mpg is poor, I get between 200 to 210 miles from full tank to reserve, with ac. Most would advise you go for the 4 cylinder for this ride

People are advising to go for Toyota corolla 2005 not Honda 2007 because of fuel consumption. I'm so confused seriously, because my mind loves Honda accord 2007.

Well buy the honda accord 4 cylinder 2007 model, may be it would give you better mpg, especially if buying fuel won't be a big issue to you, leg pull is also there but if you know the signs and symptoms of a bad ball joint, it wont give you any source of worry, use honda genuine power steering fluid for the power steering.

For toyota Corolla, peace of mind with fuel consumption, but theft of brain box, power windows and the car itself is an issue. So ensure you install a car tracker and buy power steering lock too to secure the vehicle

Now the choice is yours to make

I used honda civic for good 10 years, it was stolen last two days, what exactly do u mean by theft of brain box, and what kind of issue does toyota have. Does toyota have key sensor?

some hoodlums vandalize the toyota Corolla by removing vital components of the car rather than stealing it, others steal it outrightly at gun point or move the vehicle from the spot you packed it.

Dont get me wrong the corolla is superb that's why toyota sold millions of this model. I pray you get your honda civic back.

yes their mpg is fantastic because it's a 1.8l engine compared to the 2.4 and 3.0l of the honda accord

install a car tracker, use a steering lock when you park your car, you could also install an immobiliser.
