Tadeus: Fact: The car has a FLOOD title. Why don't you wait for the owner to drive it for the next 2 years before patting yourself for a job well done? Deep down, you know the dangers of buying a car with a FLOOD title but it's all business and profit for you. I'm 98% sure you won't use your hard earned money to buy a car with a FLOOD title for personal use. 2 Likes |

Cosplay you are good to go and I am giving you a Uber 5 star. Don’t worry about the usual you are rude argument Nigerians use all the time to emotionally manipulate you when you are standing for truth and justice. Even Nigerian pastors and politicians use those sort of things to manipulate feeble minds. Nigeria one day will become a place built on trust and transparency. In the West you will go to jail for non-disclosure even if it’s a used car. We have 6 months return back guarantee. When Nigerians are trying to be dodgy, they go the emotional angle, it’s nothing unusual. It’s same format poor Nigerian girls use to call their men broke ass niggaz. If you can’t give 100% disclosures, then take your car off nairaland. You got full disclosure from copart and I see no reason why you can’t do the same. 1 Like |

Not here to abuse or argue wit anybody. Have made my point cleared. Not also in support of hidden vin from potential buyers. I only said it’s not advisable for a seller to be wasting his/her precious time responding to idle and teens on nairaland. The buyer of the said Camry is active Nairalander. He also contributed bitterly on the post. But eventually settled for the car wen he saw it and his engineer gave him go ahead to buy. He only used d negative comments to reduce the price It’s your duty to check vin of any car before purchase . Regards 5 Likes |

You don't want to post your Vin because you go to USA and buy their scrappage vehicles to rob us of our hard-earned money. 99% of vehicles you guys import from the USA are accidented/flood or over miled cars. If your vehicle is authentic why are you afraid of posting the Vin here. |

mybestlove:u r so on point exactly the question?! what are they afraid of? customers stealing the vin? And y should we avoid window shopping with Vin? are they driving the car.? does it take extra money to include vin in ad? is it not money that will be spent to check Vin? so many questions..... but oh well..... their intent is to dupe unsuspecting, naive and ignorant individuals cos when it's private there is a huge probability that someone that doesn't know the how-to will not know the difference. they can even keep clean title sample vins eg blue 2013 Camry and even open a whatsapp group where they can help each other. imagine a scenario on whatsapp customer: please how much is ur 09 blue Camry and what are the extra details I should know about.... hope it's clean title? dealer 1: it's clean title and going for 3m cos of its non salvage value. because u r the first person asking for this ride, gimme 2.950 cos I need to purchase another one that I'm being offered. customer : OK gimme vin dealer 1(dealers whatsapp group) : please I need clean title vin for 09 Camry blue, xle. please assist, it's urgent. dealer 2: oya take, *******************, how much is my cut? dealer 1: I go give u 50k, the ride wey I wan sell na my dead flooded accidented scrap, thanks for saving my a**s*s. dealer 3: 50k for what, guy no try that thing oh, we agreed it's 5 percent of the total deal. no play with us here oh. 7____________&________________&_________ whereas kgb officials like cosplay would have decoded the fake or contradicting vin here on nairaland and exposed it. this is why they are so attached to their greedy and self centered cause. guess what, the feat has been accomplished albeit not 100 percent, but everyone that visits auto section or cartalk has an idea of how important vin search is now! 6 Likes |

Jethrolite:so your point is that they should hide the fact that a car is accidented to make more money? You will die a rot in hell because of the lives you want to put in danger because of money. You are no different from a Yahoo boy or an armed robber. Fool. Wait first..... How old are you? I will be fvcking disappointed the more if you are above 25 years and still think through your a55hole. Selling an accidented car is not bad but hiding that information from the buyer is plain evil as no car can be ever restored back to factory standard. Isn't it better they know what they are buying an therefore know how to be careful when they drive such a car? Imkpi take time o. 1 Like |

Jethrolite:oga I don't want to comprehend anything. It's because of people like the op that I fell in a very big trap as a novice when I got my first car. Okay fine. I want to go for a physical inspection, I'll bring a mechanic whose services I'll have to pay for then when the car isn't sth I want to buy due to found out faults, I'll pay the mechanic again when I see another car whose history I don't know because seller refused to give me VIN to first know if I need to go there or look for another? Because I want to buy a car doesn't mean I should spend a while lot of cash on transportation and professional mechanical inspection for every car that catches my eye. Wetin. Must I kill myself? Seeing the history of a vehicle via VIN will help me decide if it's a car with a history I can deal with them I can decide to take a mechanic along to highest tell me how much I may need to spend if there's anything to look out for. |

Copart does not ask if you are a window shopper or 3rd party before full disclosure, they provide all info and leave you to decide but Nigerians must show themselves, greed runs in the blood. They even have the effrontery to make a thread to defend it, same people will tell you Yahoo boys are good because they pay school fees and feed their family...... What's wrong with us? 1 Like |

Cosplay: Cosplay carry go, we're happy with what you're doing to these scammers who call themselves car dealers. and I think it's time we introduce a law that states, "for a dealer to sell a car on nairaland he/she must include the VIN number on the said post". SIMPLE 1 Like |

Jethrolite: Oga, am sure you have ever bought a car you will know that the first thing to do is ask the car dealer or seller for VIN. If you have nothing to hide, posting the VIN of the vehicle is no big deal except you’re an agent or one of those people who go to Jiji, Olx and other platform to steal someone else advert of car without permission. If I asked for Car VIN and you are unable to provide it, I believe you don’t have access to the Car or you’re trying to sell me a STOLEN VEHICLE. So please, if you’re not selling STOLEN VEHICLE, posting VIN isn’t a crime. |

Re: Nairaland Auto Dealers(brokers) Stop Posting Vin To Third Party by Nobody: 4:17pm On May 20, 2018 |
Jethrolite: I know you have bought a car and sell your car on this platform. And you have also advertised some other cars for sale on this platform. So before buying a car, having the VIN is very important. Some of you (Car Dealers) advertise a 2008 Car as 2012/13 demanding a 2012 price for a 2008 Car. As a buyer, the first thing I need or ask for is the Car VIN. Before mechanic inspection, I need to be sure an really buying the stated year not upgraded version. Car history is also important, so as a car dealer don’t sell a car you can’t drive or have your family drive. Selling a car isn’t just about making money, you need to consider the safety of live. So I maintain my stand, if you’re not selling a STOLEN VEHICLE, posting car vin shouldn’t be of any concern for you as a Car Dealer. 3 Likes |

TheCar: Have you ever tried to reason with a nigerian policeman to collect 50 naira instead of 100 naira? How did that argument go? Because that's how the argument with the person you're arguing with is going to go. With people like that, make your point, and move on. When you fight with a lunatic in the market, bystanders automatically assume both parties are mentally unstable. Let the pigs wallow in the mud. Jump and pass. 3 Likes |

Cosplay: You’re right. A crook is always a crook. I appreciate your work on this platform. You’re doing a great job by not only protecting novice buyers but also safeguarding people’s live on the road. One day, am sure the government will start prosecuting and jailing crook car dealers like the op just like they are hunting down fraudsters now. Human Lives Matters. 1 Like |
