Two buildings at Nkwor Ogbe market Ihiala, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, gutted by fire.

The fire, which started at about five o'clock this evening, destroyed goods worth millions of naira.

However prompt assistance by passersby prevented the inferno from razing the entire market.

As at the time of filing this report, personnel from Nnewi Fire Service were battling to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

The effects of no good water system. With a good water network and building codes, these buildings especially markets will have sprinkler systems, that might contain fires or stop them. We are too far back and we are not even knowledgeable on moving forward. The effects of our educational rot especially in the university levels.
