I read a comment on this thread where the commenter said IVMs don't have seat belts and automatic transmission. Someone will just wake up one morning and decide on embarrass himself publicly. 11 Likes |

one things with Nigerians is that we are all so gullible, there is nothing like a made in Nigerian or Nigerian vehicle you are all just being deceived what is done is we import Chinese cars and re brand theme here with innosen logos to attract you to purchase those vehicles with the "made in Nigerian factor" thats all pleases wakeup. 1 Like 1 Share

Corrinthians: this is the reason why some people should be banned permanently from partaking in politics. the op isn't so bad, but some of his die hard followers that will stop @ nothing but to force us to use ivm.... they will even ban sea and air imports of vehicles if given an opportunity and place a SOS order on those found driving post 2010 foreign vehicles in the country.... then detain the pre 2010 vehicle owners. the Nigerian market is big enough for even 100 vehicle manufacturers to thrive.... what will determine the market share of those that will prevail? Unique Selling Point. this is the one thing that most foreign manufacturers don't joke with. they understand their strength and utilize it effectively ....even when they want to sway a bit, they don't mass produce the cars that the specs try to meet another manufacturer USP specs. name the brand, and go online.... u will see why they are still in the biz and thriving.... they have a unique selling point. German machines are widely known for their rugged engines and quality build...... mpgs and maintenance on the other hand..... not so trendy. Japanese/Korean..... wide range of luxury coupled with budget-maintenance-user-pocket friendliness.... French nko.... they have their own unique selling point. IVM, what is their unique selling point people? is it build quality (tensile strength, ratio of steel and impurities in the body framework, electrical structure etc) ? is it durability( the vehicle's look and feel after 10yrs of constant usage etc) ? ruggedity nko( how well does the vehicle thrive in constant rugged terrain, abuse from mechanics etc), reliability (how reliable are the setups, can someone boast of using 100 vehicles of that brand to run 10000miles each without any major breakdown), Pocket friendliness (how much is the cost of acquisition, recurring maintenance parts), the Nigerian favorite... MPG (how many miles can the full tank carry comfortably both city and highway), safety (haaaa this one I no even know wetin to talk here... SRS) .. etc they need to find their spark and focus on it. IMHO, ivm should find another unique selling point other than "it is assembled/manufactured in Nigeria" nobody likes the country sef to start with!!! 5 Likes 1 Share |

I don't think one can objectively critic the IVM brand without at least giving it a try. Most of the negative comments here are based on assumptions and prejudiced mindsets. I would rather wait until I drive one before giving a verdict. Plus, some of the comparisons to certain brands here make no sense. There are premium brands, intermediate brands and low end brands, and they all have their place as long as certain basic standards are met. AkpaMgbor: Chai, I didn't want to go there. Thanks for helping out. 8 Likes |

dabossman: wrong, one can easily criticize any brand when the specs are available and consumer reviews are also accessible.... have u driven a Porsche cayenne before, but u can go online and see specs and compare with other cars in its category to enable one make informed decisions and arguments........ I Ask again. what is the unique selling point of the IVM? let someone who feels he is authoritative in that field just bring it to the table for analysis! someone said government officials should be banned from driving foreign cars....... we don't need to ban them or force them or anything if the brand can comfortably compete with others in its class. even the ivm vehicles I see politicians use in the south, the durability isn't there...... bring a 10yr old foreign vehicle and a 1yr old ivm, park them in a parking lot and lock it..... come back 2yrs after and check the extent of degradation both must have undergone...... or u look @ consumer reviews for data... and when I mean reviews I don't mean PR or paid reviews... I mean valid consumer reviews..... have u ever heard of IVM recall? is it that they don't encounter manufacturer spec defects? but there is a salient Nigerian factor in the production process that ensures this kind of structure does not come to fruition 2 Likes 1 Share |

Akathriel: You need to do away with this kind of mentality, the fact that someone is saying something good about a company doesn't mean he or she is working for the company, do you even buy things online? If you do i believe reviews are one of the criteria you use before buying something from a particular store. Change your perception. 1 Like |

Akathriel:Guy most Nigerians that use BMW, Benz n Audi are mostly second hand and keep dates with mechanic. How many Nigerians can afford new Benz. Just went with a senior friend to obtain a tokumbo RX350 benze 012 for about 5m. He's already keeping dates with mechanics. And I'm sure his brand new Kia will eventually serve him better for normal city runs without maintenance trips If IVM is better than Kia n Hyundai that's a big plus plus for them jare 4 Likes |
