Hi house,

So I've been thinking of visiting Houston during my next trip to the U.S.
I've been to a few states but never been to Houston. I hear that Houston weather is almost like naija weather...well that's a plus for me cos I detest cold weather. I've heard and read so many postive reviews about Houston however I have found that moving around the state is almost impossible without a car.
I will like to know how nairalanders living there get around. I wouldn't want to spend all my money on Uber during my visit. Also, where are the spots in town for tourists and easiest way to get around them.

Who told you that Houston weather is almost like Naija weather? It depends what time of the year you're visiting. Houston is just like any other city, it get really chilly during Winter and Spring and Hot during Summer and slightly warm during early Fall, and starts to chill out during late Fall in preparation for Winter.

If you don't have a car in Houston, you're OYO... You need a car in order to move around. The public transit system isn't like that of major metropolitan cities, it doesn't serve all areas on not on constant basis, so YES, you NEED a car. You may be lucky to have someone rent a car for you, or perhaps, they may rent one to you with an International Drivers License. I do believe this comes with a huge deposit. I don't know, you'd have to look into it. There are many spots in Houston, depends on what you're interested in.
