4 Steps to Getting an Amazing Job as a Graduate with 3rd Class or Pass Grade

The current economic condition in Nigeria has made the job market highly competitive. There are few jobs compared to large number of applicants. As such, most recruiters have created very stiff requirements for job applications – Maximum of age, NYSC completion, 6 Credits at One Sitting and Minimum of 2.1 class of grade. It therefore seems that graduates with lower class of grades cannot get jobs. Highlighted below are steps such graduates can follow to get an amazing job:

1. Humble yourself – I’m not your religious leader and I’m not preaching to you. This is however, a very great step you must take to start – you must be humble enough to forgive your past, forget your failures, stop blaming your lecturers, accept reality, willing to learn new things from anyone regardless of their age, class or qualification.
2. Assess your passion and capability – There’s a need to assess what you really want to do, what type of job you want and what your capabilities are? Your passion will determine what skills you need to acquire.
3. Search for jobs that place less emphasis on qualification – There are amazing jobs that need your skills and not your qualifications. Search for these jobs, check the ones that go along with your passion and see what their requirements look like.
4. Get the necessary skills – Having known what they require, do not waste your time, get the needed skills. If you just graduated, you’re most lucky as you have more time during your NYSC to get these skills. Get the skills, and apply for the jobs.

My Degree Cert is meant from my parents cos all they want is pass through the slavery stage for 5 years.... The only thing that I’ve learnt in college is networking with the right mindset & that would go a long way for me.

To those who are "stuck" in college/university:

No one pointed a gun to your head to go there, you're living your OWN life, not someone else's' expectation of you. When that life drags you down, you have no one to blame but yourself. When you win, you created it (with whatever help you had, of course, but YOU took action).

If you are willingly in the "higher" education, remember, you are NOT there for the knowledge! Spend JUST enough time to pass, that piece of paper you "earned" at the end looks the same to anyone who actually asks, as long as you PASS. You are actually there to NETWORK, meet people, get into circles of people who get things done. These are the future leaders of the corporate world, if you want to be one of them later, be one of them now.

If you are just there to study and get good grades, you have MISSED THE POINT of the game.

All these people talking first class, second class, 3rd class. There's only one way to get far in life skills and luck. See people like Lionel messi, christian Ronaldo, neymar, Mikel, Anthony Joshua, etc... There weekly allowance alone is more than most ceo of any multinational company of all here talking about 1st class and co whereby those with skills are making it

Rule 1.
Never humble yourself for anyone ...having a third class is not a veneral disease; during interviews, sell your strengths it is only Nigeria that emphasis is placed on class of degree instead of qualifications, competence and skill.

Rule 2.
Do not be afraid to ask for good benefits ...no be two head you get.

Rule 3
After get.ting a foot in the door; internship, traineeship, entry level position...work yourself creatively and quickly. Be a benchmark for others.

Rule 4.

This is the most important rule...network like your life depends on it.

Be self employed.



Don't allow paper to define ur worth
And know it dat even 1st class also weap

Irrespective of your grade, I will let you in on the only one rule that matters,

If you made 3rd Class or Pass..just forget looking for job..except your connection strong very well..even 2.1..never get.
Your best bet is to settle in business and grow big and expand your business operations and still carry your head high as one also doing well and maybe employ those 2.1...2.2 or maybe first class graduates still looking for job.

Just simply go for another degree

Nigerians don't believed in realities, connections has made everyone to accept mirage as truth. Qualification or no no qualification you can attained any position in Nigeria provided you are tightly connected. God bless Nigeria.

3rd class isn't the end of the world. For science inclined scholars You can do a PGD. Score an upper credit. Go for your Masters and then go straight to your Ph.D. All these can be in 7 years if your are determined.
