Is too bad....that Igbo businesses has been pencilled down for destruction by the jihadist in aso rock....

what is Dangote looking for in vehicle business

can't he develop a new idea and start a business of his own

since I hv known Dangote he has not started anything from scratch or on his own.
Jesus Christ!... so because IVM produces cars, no other person should go into car manufacturing?... Anyone who does is trying to bring Igbo businesses down?... My God! This has to be the most extreme case of 'victim mentality' and 'persecution complex' disorder I have witnessed.

What kind of bold public expression of jealousy is this?... What manner of inferiority complex and zero self esteem leads one to think like this, even to the extent of saying it in public?... Why do we have so many fellows these days who are hell bent on embarrassing and bringing shame to the Igbos?

You said it all, Dangote doesn't have the intelligence to become a rich man, he is just enjoying federal government monopoly empowerment and influx of looted Niger delta oil money from the northerners, they close Ibeto cement for him to excel in cement business.

A rich man that cannot develop a single product but keep on copying and closing down people businesses because he has federal backed power.
The jealousy and hatred against Dangote is real; it will officially become a registered religion when his refinery comes on stream in 2020 and then government stops the importation of fuel completely. grin

..are u in this country at all? what is the good move about this...1st. peugeot is already being assembled in the state of kaduna.again... y spend so.much on a venture whose product is not trending anymore..if u like design peugeot like plane..the new generation won't see it...or does he think kaduna.again state govt alone can purchase all the output so as to generate longevity of the plants life span..? This is more of trying to take a perceived enemy out of biz..goan check.mayb el-rufai is not in good terms with the new owners of the already existing peugeot plant...well,wev seen a lot of MOU's signed and nothing coming out from it...so it may just be a windows dressing afterall....
Dangote knows how to twist the mumu button of anyone in power, irrespective of party or religion or ethnicity. If this pulls through and they start assembling 508s, 3008s, 5008s etc in Nigeria, just watch as the FG would pass a new law preventing all government parastatals from purchasing any vehicle not produced or manufactured locally.

Meanwhile, this plan was even announced since 2015.

That's what he wanted to do with his money. Why can't you just go ahead and do what you suppose him to do? Se Dangote lori meji ni?!
We love PEUGEOT.

Dangote has money to promote indigenous design and develop a truly African model. Why Peugeot?
One thing is that black billionaires and politicians do not believe in developing technology here but if we cannot build industries that create other industries here we will continue to import technology and money keeps going out than come in.

We cannot talk about making our own weapons, nuclear power or a space programme in the next 100 years.

Can dangote try something new? I have noticed that he only ventures into business we already have people doing it in the country. Is he afraid to be the first person to try something new in Nigeria. I will only believe he is a real business man when he becomes the first person to try something new in Nigeria.
Which other private businessman has built a refinery and petrochemical plant?

And what's even wrong if a businessman decides to delve into an already existing line of business? Gow exactly is that unethical or how does that make him less of a businessman?.... The negative emotions many have against this Dangote guy is worrying.

Why this clannishness? There is free entry and free exit,a particular business is not solely made for a particular race or tribe.Stop tribalizing every issue. We need more industries, companies in Nigeria in fact if you have the means you can buy your own share in the same company.

..Of course, but what i am talking about is what you and I cannot do, only persons like him or governments can develop technology to an Industrial level.
Investing in a design and quality production process will still yield the same results providing jobs and returns on investment but with a little more time than the Peugeot plant.

The negative emotions is quite disturbing. And to think Dangote is the second largest employer of labor in the country after the fg. Dangote has on his payroll people of all tribes and religion yet he gets so much hate because he happens to come from the North.

Thankfully he doesn't seem to know all these and he just keeps growing from strength to strength.

Continue shouting jealousy why your SW is gradually being occupied by the North, Oyo and part of Ogun is totally under occupation, Lagos is witnessing massive infiltration.

Did they buy land like other people do, rather they will occupy an empty land near their big companies and seize it forever

You will not understand this words now until they are completely gone like Ilorin and Benue.

Continue jumping up and down that a fulani man is using a looted oil money to acquire new territories for his people.

Go and see what BUA group is doing in lagos and other parts of SW, massive base for Hausa-fulani stronghold occupying empty lands without buying it.

Time will tell.

Dipping koran inside the atlantic coast of lagos is already achieved as instructed to them by Amodu Bello.

Mr Man, abum ezigbote nwa afor Igbo, onye Imo steeti, but your tribalism is nauseating and your tribally driven slavery mentality stinks to high heavens. Like for real, why can't some persons just come up with any sensible progressive argument without always delving into the senseless tribal realm?... Is that too much to ask of youths in 2018?

What is wrong with your brain, must it always be Igbo versus the rest of Nigeria?

So because Igbo man is assembling Chinese cars Hausa man cannot assemble French cars again? That is why you people always squeeze out other tribes from any business you engage in, it must always be you and your kinsmen making the money alone. And you wonder why people don't like you. . . .

This is indeed a very good development for the nation, because we really need to move from been a consuming nation to a manufacturing hub.

However, the sky is still the starting point in the Nigerian automotive industry for it to meet up with the global trend, we still equally need to have our internally "fully" manufactured vehicles of ours. this is a gradual process anyway, cos Rome was not build in a day.

for all your wailing, you lot are not patronising him - heck the man will not even patronize his own cars - he prefers to roll in range rovers

of course you jokers will say that the assembler of rebadged Chinese cars is using the range for 'research'

lets see if innoson is a real businessman and not just an empty hustler

indomie was able to weather the Dangote storm because they are consummate professionals and a squeaky clean business

will your dodgy bill of lading altering mascot be able to do the same?

I thought I'd read reasonable comments on how Dangote has an unfair advantage in the area of public private partnership and concessions from government, but as usual, the only thing Nigerians know how to do is to fight ethnic wars online.

Dangote opened up a cement factory in Ethiopia. The factory and vehicles have been vandalized incessantly. Last week, the
manager was assassinated. Why? The Ethiopians see Dangote cement as anti nationalist. But in his home country, he acquires import waivers, lifetime lease for natural resource quarries, acquires arable land like he is the FG, and the stupid citizens can only sing praises, while the more educated ones are happy to drive his death-trailers with their Msc under the dashboard.
We call east Africans the real sub Saharans, but you cannot exploit them this way.
Nigeria has never had worse citizens. Shame on us all. Shame!
