The publicity secretary of Abia state APC comrade Ben Godson have described anybody who goes about saying that there was a parallel congress in Abia as either being mischievous or ignorant of the party’s guidelines and internal mechanism.

Briefing journalists in his office in Umuahia, he wondered how anyone can refer to the Chief Ikechi Emenike town hall meeting that took place at Ossa as a political party congress. How can there be a parallel congress when all the BOT members of the party in the state were present at the Umuahia township stadium venue of the congress that duly elected Hon. Donatus Nwankpa led Abia APC exco, and where any one was unavoidably absent like Prince B.B Apugo, H.E. Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and others sent in messages and financial support, that necessitated the success of the congress.

That Chief Emenike has decided to make himself a laughing stock in the public is very unfortunate, Senator Jonathan Zwingina the chairman and other members of congress committee sent by the national working committee to conduct the congress in Abia state made a press release stating categorically that the congress in Abia was free, fair and without hitches and that there was no parallel congress held anywhere in Abia, and I am sure you have heard the NWC of the party at the national, make a clear cut statement, stating that they will not recognize any parallel congress, do you now see why I said that anybody who says there was a parallel congress in Abia is either ignorant or he/she is being outrightly mischievous, Comrade Godson repeated.

Chief Emenike, Dr. Ndukwe and Mr. Mike Ozoemena their supposed publicity secretary who is not even an indigene of Abia state but hails from Anambra state with their co-travellers are unnecessary distractions, the leadership of the party is effectively situated on the shoulders of our hard working and highly experienced state chairman Chief Donatus Nwankpa and we cannot be distracted, I assure Abians and our party adherents that we are working hard to take over the reigns of power in Abia so as to provide Abians with the much desired good leadership that they have been starved of for over a decade by PDP.

Comrade Ben Godson ended by saying that nobody, not even Ikechi Emenike and his sponsors can stop APC from liberating the state from the shackles of wicked leadership, the present APC elected exco is focused and directional and cannot be distracted.
