I need practical help to overcome my struggle against the use of prostitutes. I picked up this terrible habit shortly after my graduation from university sometime in 2012 and it is a vice that has wrecked my life. The last success was 13 months without any sexual involvement with any one before i had a sad event in my life that made me go back to my vommit. Any body with practical advice should please come up with it.. yesterday I went down on my knees again to ask him to give me another chance to fix my life for good. But I really need to take practical actions as faith without work is dead
I have an amazing future but this lifestyle may cut it off if don't fight it headlong.

I am 30+ old man that really wish to settle down but not until I quit this habit that has disconnected me from God as well as made my life miserable.
I am from a Christian background.

Bro the fact you feel bad about this shows your spirit is still alive.. so keep the good fight !

You try you succeed, you try you fail the important thing is to keep knowing you have to bear this and never get comfortable in doing wrong

Never believe it's okay to tell yourself that if on Sunday you cry and accept Jesus you are free from guilt no you keep fighting

You pray for strength each morning and face each day believing that day is the day you win and if at the end of the day you fail don't despair pray that night again for renewed strength to try again the next day , reenforce this with avoid temptations from going to the wrong places, veiwing pornography and information you consume

Watch out for triggers, what makes you always susceptible to this? Is it alcohol, boredom, certain thought processes , particular movie scenes then try hard to manage these as much as you can

There's no such thing as anyone laying hands on you and it disappears or any special.prayers , it's all in you to manage with the good Lord by your side bro

It's a life time struggle and we should continue to fight this till our last days

Sometimes it can take a whole life time to conquer one propensity

Just keep on keeping on and realize there's nothing wrong with you, you aren't some broken being you are just human and will give this your best shot to be the best you can be

Fight the good fight with all the might bro

We all have our battles daily , you are not alone

We are all immensely flawed creatures

All.the best

Thanks for those amazing pointers. I think in my case it has to do with thought processes and boredom. But be assured that I am going to seriously think about those practical steps you pointed out.

marriage is not a solution to your challenge it will just make it worst. be genuinely born again attend a Bible believing church.if you have a real Pastor not a charlatan open up to him for help., then take practical steps that was previously posted. it's well

You have taken the first and most important step which is determining in your heart to stop. The next step is getting a decent girl to date. Not only will she take your mind off prostitutes it will allow you guys get to know each other. So that when The time is right for marriage you won't just pick a random woman and later regret. The fact that you are not financially buoyant should not discourage you infact any woman that accepts you now is a good sign she genuinely loves you. Finally go close to God.

Thanks everyone for the practical suggestions. One thing I have learnt the hard way, is that you can't ignore God's laws and expect him to shield you from the sad consequences. It's not going to be an easy battle, but with God and sincere effort on my part, I am determined to retrace my steps and fix my life for good. I am going to be updating you all about my success stories as a way of holding myself accountable. Any further suggestions will still be appreciated.

Immerse yourself in the word of God. Even when you fall, dust yourself and rise again. Don't wallow in that vomit.

1st Pet 1 vs 13- 'Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober'

It means control your thoughts and don't give in to temptation.

It has been a successful day. I started the day with a personal prayer before joining the family for morning prayers. Assisted the family in taking care of some chores. Did laundry for myself. I helped in the kitchen too. Just about to join family and friends at the sitting room to watch the UCL final. The team I tipped for the finals made it to the final. But tonite, I will be pitching my tent with RMD.

Tnx everyone for the suggestions.

understanding that there is a problem is a first victory!

start becoming more social; go to youth programs, etc

get a positive substitute when you feel like doing that which you do not, eg when that urge comes, distract yourself by doing something meaningful like writing a book, blogging etc

finally get a wife!

This has nothing to do with God, prayer or curse, It's just a habit you picked up over time and now it's hard wired in your brain to think about and deeply rooted in your mind to forget.

The bad news is any form of sexual related habit is very hard to quit, Again very hard! It could be sex with prostitudes, gay sex, måsturbation or even regular sex with random partners. This is the reason why it's hard to quit. Food is what to the stomach what Orgåsm is to the brain. Meaning, Orgåsm is food to the brain, The brain doesn't care how you achieve it (could be sex with prostitudes or otherwise), so long as it releases chemical hormones for you give back Orgåsm, he is fine but what kills you as a person is the limitation of societal approval towards some type of way people reach Orgåsm hence approves of only marriage and two, risk of getting infected with deadly diseases.

How then can your quit your deadly habit?

I'm Sorry, You can't just quit an habit just with a decision of the mouth because it way beyond your words but more of the brain activity hence the reason why you go back after saying you quit. And it's even more worst because you can't quit sex since you sexually active. Celibacy is a joke to a man raging with hormones.

The only way around it is replacing an old habit with a new one, first move to a new environment as this would subconsciously make you aware you starting starting a new life. Secondly, Get a flesh light off jumia or other online sex shop or wherever, Get a girl friend and admit being guilty of addiction to prostitudes, basic point is talk to somebody about it and in this case, A girlfriend should be the best go to person to confide in, Be sure to get a nice girl who would care enough to listen to you and help work through it. And when this feeling/thought of sex with prostitudes comes up, call her straight away and talk about it. You would be good.

Note: you not quitting sex, hence the reason for the fleshlight and a girlfriend who would regulate your sexual habit by talking about it and her denying you sex sometimes to reconfigure your brain. You would be just fine and would save more.

I wish you victory on this battle between you and your brain. This brain has been winning following the frequent episodes and relapses now i charge you to win following these tips I had written out.

Occupy your mind with more relevant things. The more you think about it the more you fall for it.

Change your location, move to areas without much brothels, out of sight is out of mind sometimes.

Just remember that a prostitute cares about nothing but your money. They offer fake love and care, even their moans during sex are fake. Look for a true relationship that nurtures love. a lady that truly loves you. stop seeing women as sex objects. everything is in your mindset.
