How Punch Newspapers Chairman, Wale Aboderin died two weeks after surgery

Sadly,  Wale Aboderin, the amiable chairman of Punch Newspaper is dead.  He gave up the ghost around 6:05am yesterday morning.

Although news about his death is still being kept under wrap we reliably gathered that his remains has been deposited at TOS funeral,Alausa Ikeja, Lagos.

Sahara Weekly check revealed that he came back from spain three weeks ago.

According to our source,  he was rushed to an undisclosed  hospital in spain due to the fact that he lost consciousness in the aircraft. There, he was told his heart has a problem and needs a surgery. He didn't want to do the surgery abroad So he came back to Nigeria two weeks ago.

On arrival, he went for the surgery at First Cardiogy Hospital in Ikoyi Where he survived the operation.

But sadly, he gave up the ghost yesterday morning around 6:05am

The deceased was indeed a pillar of support to so many in this country. He is the elder brother of Jaiye aboderin who slumped while playing basketball And brother to Veteran Musician, Wunmi Obe. He was the founder of dolphins basketball foundation. He is Survived by a wife and two children.

May his soul Rest In Peace.

I think he is the son of Aboderin the founder of Punch newspaper.
If I am correct, may his soul indeed RIP.
His dad left a great newspaper and he not only continued but took Punch a step further to being the most objective, most people oriented, most read and indeed best newspaper in Nigeria for the past several years.
That was a great person gone.
Just hope the next chairman of Punch would continue the great tradition.
