Roundup compiled by me wink

GROUP A
RUSSIA have included Yuri Zhirkov and CSKA Moskva wonderkid Alexsandr Golovin

16 out of SAUDI ARABIA's 23 man squad play for either Al Ahli or Al Hilal including forward Mohammad Al Sahlawi

EGYPT have included a not fully fit Mohammed Salah and Arsenal's Mohammed Elneny also makes the final cut

URUGUAY have two of Europe's deadliest finishers in the final squad: Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez but midfielder Gaston Ramirez misses out

GROUP B
PORTUGAL have Cristiano Ronaldo, veteran Ricardo Quaresma and Arsenal target Sporting Lisbon's flying winger Gelson Martins included in the final squad but there's a notable name missing: Nani.

On paper SPAIN have arguably one of the strongest squads in the tournament with David De Gea, Captain Sergio Ramos, midfield veteran Andres Iniesta as well as war horse and Brazilian born Diego Costa up front. There are no Alvaro Morata or Cesc Fabregas though.

MORROCO have Juventus lynchpin Mehdi Benatia in the squad. Any chance there'll be another clash with Lucas Vazquez when they play Spain? I hope so!

IRAN are yet to release their final 23 list. But former Fulham forward Ashkan Dejagah will fancy his chances.

GROUP C
FRANCE have flying wingers Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe, as well as Liverpool targets Nabil Fekir and Thomas Lemar included in the final 23. Notable omissions include Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette and Anthony Martial. Such is their strength in depth.

For AUSTRALIA, Everton legend Tim Cahill is the standout name included in the final squad. Manchester United fans may also remember Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy. Or they may chose not to.

PERU have perhaps one of the stories of the world cup- captain and all time top goalscorer Paolo Guerrero, banned initially for testing positive to cocaine, has had his ban suspended after pleas from captains of Australia, France and Denmark and worldwide football fans. And he properly responded with 2 goals against Saudi Arabia in his first game back. Talk about shooting your own foot.

DENMARK have the brilliant Christian Eriksen and Celta's Pione Sisto. But, sadly, Nicklas Bendtner misses out through injury.

GROUP D
ARGENTINA will be without their first choice goalkeeper- Manchester United's Sergio Romero, for the first time in a major tournament in over 10 years. But worry not, Lionel Messi is in there grin

For ICELAND, this is their first ever world cup appearance and Everton's Gylfi Sigurdsson is in, despite just recovering from a lengthy injury. He's deadly from set pieces though. The core of the team that knocked England out of the Euros 2 years ago are in.

CROATIA's vastly experienced core of goalkeeper Danijel Subasic, Defender Vedran Corluka, ball playing midfielder Luka Modric and striker Mario Mandzukic all make the final cut.

For NIGERIA, captain John Mikel Obi and winger Victor Moses are among the experienced and recognisable faces to make the final 23, as well as wildcards Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho. There's no Vincent Enyeama though, their first choice goalkeeper at their last two world cups as well as a couple of Nations Cups.

GROUP E
BRAZIL. Again the squad is so strong they can do without the likes of David Luiz, Dani Alves and Oscar and still be among strong favourites. Poster boy Neymar Jr. has recovered just in time to make the final squad.

SWITZERLAND are yet to name a final 23 but Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka are in there, for now.

For COSTA RICA, captain Keylor Navas, midfielder Bryan Ruiz and striker Joel Campbell all made it. Wildcard team.

SERBIA. Branislav Ivanovic and Nemanja Matic are in, as well as one of Europe's most sought after talents at the moment- Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

GROUP F
GERMANY have one of the highest profile omissions- Manchester City wonderkid Leroy Sane- voted best young player of the just concluded English Premier League. Manuel Neuer has recovered in time to be included. Marco Reus, who missed their triumphant campaign 4 years ago through injury, is finally going to a world cup. Strong favourites.

For MEXICO, Rafael Marquez is set to become only the second player to appear at FIVE world cups because he's been included in the final 23. Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela and Giovanni Dos Santos are also included and will be appearing at their third.

SWEDEN have Victor Lindelof, Sebastian Larsson and another Arsenal target Emil Fosberg included.

SOUTH KOREA's Ki Sung-yueng of Swansea as well as the county's biggest player by a mile Son Heung-min of Tottenham are both included in the final cut.

GROUP G
BELGIUM are another country with a strong side made up largely of English Premier League stars, with Chelsea's Thibaut Courtouis and Eden Hazard, Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Moussa Dembele joined by Kevin De Bruyne, Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku of both Manchester clubs. Sadly, Vincent Kompany, Christian Benteke and Divock Origi are among those missing.

PANAMA are also at their first world cup and perhaps the most notable name in their squad is Gent midfielder Jose Luis Rodriguez.

TUNISIA have Dijon midfielder Naim Sliti and former Sunderland forward Wahbi Khazri in the final squad.

ENGLAND have called up 19 year old Liverpool debutant Trent Alexander-Arnold and 33 year old Manchester United wing back Ashley Young. Most notably Joe Hart and Jack Wilshere are missing.

GROUP H
POLAND have not announced their final 23 but you would bet on Wojciech Szczesny and Robert Lewandowski to be on the plane.

SENEGAL's most notable inclusions are Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, midfielders Idrissa Gueye and Cheikhou Kouyate, as well as, among others, Liverpool speedster Sadio Mane.

COLOMBIA are yet to announce the final squad, but they've always built their team around the core of goalkeeper David Ospina, defender Christian Zapata, midfielder James Rodriguez and striker Radamel Falcao and they all have a huge shout of making it as well as Davinson Sanchez, Juan Cuadrado and Carlos Bacca.

JAPAN have again called on experienced midfield duo of Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa, as well as Leicester striker Shinji Okazaki.
