PDP National Chairman Asks Buhari To Quit by gr8keeng: 5:07am On Jun 07, 2018
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to quit the stage now that it has become evident that he cannot hold the government and the country together.

Secondus said this in a statement signed on his behalf by his Media Adviser, Ike Abonyi, in Abuja, on Wednesday.

He said this in a reaction to resolutions passed by the National Assembly after an executive session on Tuesday.

The lawmakers had threatened to invoke their constitutional powers on the President if a number of constitutional infringements were not quickly addressed.

Secondus said there was no further confirmation to the fact that the President was presiding over a collapsed administration.

The PDP chairman said that the position of the parliament clearly reflected clearly that of a cross-section of Nigerians and should be respected.

Secondus contended that even though the position of the legislators was late in coming given the alleged damage already done to democracy and the country by the administration, the lawmakers still deserved commendation for standing up for democracy and the rule of law.

Secondus said, “Evidence abound globally that by parliamentary powers, the resolution of the National Assembly means that the people have lost confidence in the President and he should quit.

“We, in the opposition, have been saying it interminably that this government has no direction and does not mean well for the country.”

Secondus urged all lovers of democracy to queue behind the National Assembly at this critical time in our political challenge and put pressure on the President to leave the stage now to save democracy and the country.

He said that the government had exhibited all the traits of a failed administration and did not need to wait for the parliament to give it a notice to quit.

The party chairman further said, “History is a witness that when a government is bereft of ideas and still wants to cling on to power, it resorts to using of brute force, intimidation and harassment of opponents, a quality we have seen very blatantly in this regime.”

The President should resign this month because we are loosing more people daily to national security crisis, police brutality, armed robbery, Fulani herdsmen attack, insecurities and tribal violence. He has failed to unite the country and have lost control of governance and his party.

The fact that APC has been factionalize in all the states points to the fact that the party leadership itself has lost control of the mechanics of power and as such we can no longer consider Buhari fit enough to be called a Commander in Chief especially since Amnesty International has video clips of soldiers raping IDP girls and impregnating them in exchange for the free food that is donated to the people.

The school feeding programme is a failure, as kids are fed on paper, which could cause health crisis.

For the interest of national unity, Buhari must be forced to resign as he is now using security apparachit as his personal militia against perceived opposition.
