They can do better than this.

There is nothing wrong with borrowing .

Do your in-depth research. Tell us what the borrowing was for and how it has been handled.

Useless governor!

Borrowing money and putting the state in indebtedness.

Like Yahaya, like Rochas

You forgot to mention Fayose too. By the way, Rocha's said he had never borrowed dime anywhere and if he did then he is a bastard. Most Nigerian governors are bunch of useless idiots anyway.

I will say it again that bello is kogi punishment for what they did to wada. Wada handed kogi as the least indebted state with a human approach to taking care of its workers. Yet, kogi were very ungrateful. Today here we are, bello is has mortgaged the future of generations yet unborn

Upon the huge inflow from bail out, Paris Club refund, monthly allocation from FAC without salaries been paid to civil servants in the state , the Notorious Yeye Bello has added debt as an icing on the cake of non performance. Na who we offend for this country wey no wan forgive us na ?

Try get sense na.... Bello has received money no Governor in the history of Kogi State has ever received.

Bello, retrenched so many ghost workers he said so where did all their ghost salaries went to? It's supposed to be more and additional money for the state if true.

Bello have not been upto date with salary payment even though there's increase in Kogi monthly allocations and budget plan. (Budget funds almost doubled the preceding budget...)

Bello impoverished Kogi State and he's practically shutting down the state... Family man(civil servant) now swallow their pride to go as low as begging even corpers in the state. Many civil servant die due to hopelessness and malnutrition in Kogi State..

No infrastructural development anywhere near the state, they(planned workers) only come to put bulldozer and Earth moving machines whenever they want to go on the media to lie...

Can you compare those state you mentioned and what is going on in Kogi State? No! They have results for the money they borrow while Kogi borrows money to go backwards

See ehn the way u wan support Bello ehn, if anybody for the state swear for you, e go catch u oo. Take ya time o! undecided
just to add to ur point, a level 10 Civil servant begged me for 100 Naira yesterday,i was really sad, it as really gone from bad to worse.

Benue is worst!

The incompetent Ortom recently admitted during a radio program to have borrowed over 100 billion Naira!

Benue people were completely taken aback by the news as there is nothing to show for such huge debt.

He is owing workers for almost 12 months.

Times like this is when the citizens should pay attention to their respective states with regard to the issue of revenue accruals and their utilization. This is the reason why I always abstain from judging other governors except mine on their performance.
What Delta state is owing as domestic and foreign debts is insane when compared to their utilization. A cursory look at the debt profile of the states on the DMO website, I found out that Kogi is stabke on external debt between 2015 and 2017 while the rest progressively increase their debt profile.

Excerpt

External debts of a few states
2015 vs 2017 ($)

Abia 41m vs101m

Delta 38m vs 58m

Adamawa 49m vs 94m

Anambra 60m vs 85m

Bauchi 85m vs 109m

Kogi 33m vs 33m

Cross river 136 vs 167

All the states are guilty of financial impropriety. Kogi may not even be the worse especially when IGR is factored into the equation. My humble submission.

The Kogi state government obtained loans of at least N16 billion between May 2017 and January 2018, TheCable can report. This is despite over N20 billion which accrued to the state from the Paris Club refund.

Kogi also benefitted from the bailout which the federal government gave to states.
However, documents seen by TheCable showed that the state house of assembly approved loans of N12 billion and another 1.2 billion on December 5, 2017. Still in December, the government borrowed a separate N1.2 billion from Fidelity Bank Plc.

Documents show that Kogi got another loan of N3.5 billion on January 31, 2018.
On March 20, 2018, the state treasury quarters issued an irrevocable standing payment order (ISPO) to Zenith Bank to make monthly deductions of N236,892,000 from its Lokoja bank account over a period of 18 months, as repayment of the N3.5vbillion loan which was said to be used for budget implementation.

Kingsley Fanwo, Bello’s spokesman, was not available for comments when this report was filed as as his telephone line was switched off.
