kowasco: pls dont be decieved... If u have passion to study mech. Engineering, Do so. It has a higher employment opportunity than other engineering courses and is the best engineering course u can study in Nigeria. Mechantronics is good too but learning in Nigeria could be a mistake... Majority of institutions (uni and poly) in Nigeria do not have enough facilities and d lecturers are not professionals... Elect Elect is another good course... But go for what u have passion for, else u will be frustrated out of it |

I DONT KNW WHY PEOPLE MISTAKE CHEMICAL ENG AS MAJORLY RELATED TO CHEMISTRY. I STUDIED CHEMICAL ENGINEERING AND FOUND OUT ITS MORE PHYSICS THAN CHEMISTRY. FOR ME CHEMICAL ENGINEERING WILL GIVE U A VERY GOOD PROSPECT AS IT DEALS WITH PROCESSES N PRODUCTION. IN A STANDARD ORGANIZATION, AT LEAST A CHEMICAL ENGINEER IS NEEDED IN ANY PRODUCING COMPANY BUT THE CASE IS ALWAYS NOT THAT IN NIGERIA CIVIL HAS A VERY NICE PROSPECT TOO. COS AS LONG AS CONSTRUCTION IS NOT CEASING, IT WILL ALWAYS BE RELEVANT. MECHANICAL AND ELECT/ELECT WILL FOREVER BE NEEDED ANY TIME ANY DAY EVERYWHERE EVEN WHEN ROBOTS TAKE OVER. FOR GREAT COUNTRIES, MECHATRONICS ENGR WILL BE R GREAT OPTION BUT IN NIGERIA FOR NOW. YOU CAN TRY AERONAUTIC ENGINEERING OR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING. LASTLY IT'S YOUR CHOICE TO GO FOR ANY BUT ENSURE YOU AV D FLARE N CAPACITY FOR SUCH. DONT DO IT because PPLE SAY TOU SHOUD GO FOR IT. BEST OF GOD. 1 Like |

Nobody will say this, marine engineering is the best,i bet you is very versatile, there are lots of opportunities out there for marine engineering, its so branched out, though very similar to mechanical, but has an edge to it,so take my advice and study marine engineering.. |

Elect/elect is by far the most innovative engineering discipline that is synonymous to advancement technology. It is the lifewire of emerging technology and advanced engineering like Automation, industrial robotics, artificial intelligence, sarcoustic and adaptive system, neural network, cybanetic and bionics, etc. In fact most of the jobs that are traditionally the core displine of other engineering fields are currently being being automated with elect/elect guys driving it 1 Like |

kowasco: Why not try Polymer and Textile Engineering? it's the best bet for you. it cut across almost all engineering courses and some sciences. Modern technology now use composite Polymer as their framework to all there dealings because of its versatility. This course is surely the future, and remember the future is now! 1 Like |

Given that Nigeria's manufacturing sector is mostly chemical/food based, the best engineering course to study in Nigeria is chemical engineering. If you travel abroad, you can then specialise in Biomedical engineering, polymer engineering, or Environmental engineering. Only EEE comes close. |
