Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by eldee(m): 3:24pm On Jun 06, 2010 |
~Sauron~: Let me explain it to you . . . Blue with black baggy jeans is for the way he beats rappers 'black and blue' Red hat . . . is for the Red Eye Movement. Multi-colour Letterman Jacket is a reference to Joseph's coat of many colours. And he wears so many items of clothing in that weather to prove that he's cold as ice and twice as nice. Altogether . . . Modenine is freestyling with the metaphorical fashion sense. You're not deep enough to dress like this. |

Dress Code: make una leave modenine. Nobody don mention 2face here wey even get the track @rhyme wada? |
Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by eldee(m): 1:48am On Jun 07, 2010 |
@Mobinga You do have a point on the face of things, but if you look at the rhyme structure Jay-Z used all the way from the beginning of that song, you'll see that he was using multi-syllabic rhymes. In cases where you get confused, listen to the way he pronounced the words, they were obviously slant rhymes. And as I said, the other rhymes on the song might be a good pointer. I seen Mase do it, I seen 'Ye do it X came through, caught lighter fluid Still I came through it Wayne scorchin, I'll applaud him If he keep goin, pass the torch to him The white boy blossomed after Dre endorsed him His flow on "Renegade," fuckin awesome, applaud him So do you see he was playing on the /o-im/ sounds?? If you still doubt that he was using slant rhymes, listen to the song again . . . any word can rhyme, it just depend on the way the rapper accentuates it. |

eldigitty. . . .na make them never mention MI for Nairaland walahi And you were the one who brought mode9 into this matter with your very first post. O de fi bobo yi le nah. Anyways na Kanye I blame. If not for that nappy headed stripper and hennessy at least we will still be here debating Kanye lyrics , antics and influence on the 'rapscape' (TM) *dont bite*. |
Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by eldee(m): 11:42am On Jun 07, 2010 |
^^^ Hehehe . . . I didn't bring in Modenine, Sauron did. It's just weird that of all things to question in M.I's lines, someone chose to question his rhyming. This dude has Tufaced the art of rhyming in Nigerian hiphop. About Kanye, just saw an interview where Nas was talking about how he's the most musically gifted rapper out there. I'm thinking . . .even Nas agrees?? ?? ?? I'm still a big fan of Kanye's . . . go listen to Power. |
Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by slimshay(m): 1:06pm On Jun 07, 2010 |
Of course he has to rate as musically gifted. A lot of them suck at producing after all. Thing is I agree about his influence I'm just yet to decide whether its a good one or a bad one. Its kinda normal to hear a bit of Kanye in all this up-and-comings, but then Im not so impressed by the up and comings. So are they killing the Kanye thing or are they killing it. And na lie Eldee, na you first talk Jupiter. . . .and we all know there is only one out of space rapper in Nigeria . No dey lie. |
Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by Genuflect(m): 1:42pm On Jun 07, 2010 |
Una wan kill person abi? Lmaooooo. Yeeeee, mummy mi o. I don laff taya. Deji.ariyo, cool down jor. That was obviously R&B rapping. Una too dey over-analyse. eldee, I've heard Power. I like the lyrics but I don't like that beat |
Re: Be There (remix) 2face Ft M.i by eldee(m): 2:08pm On Jun 07, 2010 |
slimshay: Is it a good influence or a bad one?? Depends whether you're pro-evolution or conservative. I think NWA had a really bad influence on rap music and even black culture by bringing in gangster rap that held the rap game in a chokehold for 15 straight years. But that's just an opinion, I do like gangsta rap like hell. . . but to me, Kanye music is what we need for the next generation. If you want good Kanye, listen to the likes of J.Cole and Lupe, even Common is beginning to Kanye a bit. Hey, causing trouble is a result based crime . . . when I said that, no one noticed, till Sauron came with the intellectual fashion. |
