In the room were different kind of scary images and a centre table, the centre table was decorated with a red loin cloth, a knife was placed on it, a sparkling sharp knife. There was a bowl also placed on the centre table. Behind the centre table, at the extreme part of the room and by the wall is a small stool, on it was placed a human skull or better put, the skull of a dead man. Gabriel had been forced to drink from the bowl of blood, they said it was the blood of an animal and then with the knife, he had been given a painful mark on his back, it was the image of their symbol, the sign of the skull.

Thereafter, he had been beaten mercilessly with canes by those who had come to initiate him until he passed out, he later woke up to meet himself outside the building, his cloth was on him, and with the little strength he could mutter, he ran out of the jungle. God led him well and he soon busted into the school, near the back gate. Chucks happen to be one of the brilliant boys in the class, he lives with his brother who the school rumor to be a cultist. Chucks got up with shaking legs, he had also peed on his trousers. “You look so innocent but am sorry, you have to pay for the sins of your brother” another guy told him. “Please sir, don’t kill me” chucks begged, a gun was pointed at him and he knew any moment, he will be a dead man. “I have warned your brother Matt to leave my girl but it’s like that foolish night crawlers cult of a group are the ones giving him morale, now am sorry, you will have to pay for the sins of your brother” the guy said and was about to pull the trigger when another zoomed into the faculty. The moment the inhabitants of the car came out, fear could be seen written on the faces of the guys who had initially come to kill chucks. His boys on seeing what had happened dropped their guns and surrendered to the Night crawlers. “For it is written, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who sinned against us, go and sin no more” Rabbi said to the guys who had surrendered, they were the members of the Elu-elu confraternity, one of the upcoming cult groups. “Go ye into the nation and preach to the unbelievers about the wonders of the Night Crawlers” Rabbi shouted, “Touch me pastor, pastore I say chuk me” the member of the night crawlers who had come in through window earlier shouted and danced around Rabbi, just then his cap fell and his eyes met with that of Queen, it was Gabriel, Mr. Cultist

SAVED BY SIN EPISODE: EPISODE 23 That is what he had been avoiding, he had never wanted Queen to see him and that was why he had covered his face with a cap in the first place, he had tried not to come on the mission but he had to come save the life of the brother of one of them. It was surprising how he had changed so soon, in just two months, he had brought down 15 able men, something some cult hit men couldn’t achieve in years. At the initial part, he had refused to stay at home with Israel, he had hated Israel with all his life but as the pressure got too much on him, he had no option than to fall in with the Night Crawlers. He was naïve at first but just on a few words of motivation, the devil in him had been unleashed. He was now considered more deadly than Rabbi himself though Rabbi always loved going on missions with Gabriel as his right hand man. His eyes caught with that of Queen and he immediately diverted it away and walked out leaving the rest to continue with their chanting. Queen opened her mouth in disbelief, it was unbelievable, she couldn’t believe it was the same Gabriel she fell in love with, why? Why is her life always different? At first, she grew up wayward and now that her life was just about to take a good turn, it took a bad one instead. “Gabriel” she called silently to herself, on a normal day, she would have walked up to him and fill him with Questions accompanied with slaps but this day was not a normal day. In front of her are some group of cult boys chanting and dancing happily, Prof. Wincho their lecturer was on the floor groaning due to the pains of his bleeding leg. Even if she isn’t scared of the boys there, Rabbi is someone to be scared of, every student of the University knows Rabbi, he had been declared wanted on several occasions but even at that, he still roam the school freely than even the policemen who had declared him wanted. Gabriel walked to the car his boys had come with, he had not come with them with the car, he had been by the bush side behind the window of their lecture theater, that was where he had always been ever since he became a cultist, most times, he had come to take lectures, but today, he was there to keep track of the Elu-elu boys. One of their informant, the night crawlers informant had gotten the information that the Elu-elu boys were planning to kill the brother of Matt, one of their hit-men. Without wasting time, the group had assigned Gabriel to go keep watch of when the Elu-elu boys arrive so he can alert them who will be hiding in a corner of the school not very far from the faculty of life science. Gabriel so that as no big deal, he would just hide in his normal spot by the bush side where he do take his lectures and call them from there, but that was not the case. He had been informed to take action from behind so as to take the Elu-elu boys off guide, and he was also to dress in their uniform. He tried giving them different excuses why he should not go on the mission but they gave him more excuses why he should go on the mission. It was not that the mission was a difficult one, he had gone on more dangerous mission like the one he went on two weeks ago, that was on a good Sunday, the mission was to go bring down pastor Silas, someone who has used the name of the lord to cover his tracks. Pastor Silas as he was known to the people happen to be a junior pastor of one of the numerous redeem churches in the school, not only was he a pastor, unknown to the children of God, he was a night walker, he does his dirty works at night, he happen to be a member of the “Five life confraternity”, a cult group specialized to protect their members from lecturers and staff of the University, they would kill any lecturer who fails their member in any examination. On this basis, pastor Silas had been given the mission to kill a lecturer who had failed one of their members in her final exams, unknown to them, the lecturer which they sort to kill was a sponsor of the Night crawlers. The informant of the Night Crawlers had informed the Night Crawlers of what was to happen, it was to happen on a Monday, but that Sunday morning, pastor Silas was killed in the church during a church program in an open daylight, all thanks to Gabriel. Gabriel had come into the church like a member of the church, he was even dressed in a nice suit. His eyes had caught pastor Silas on the alter, the moment he walked in, as usual, pastor Silas was reading his bible in preparation for a sermon. Just after the soul touching sermon given by pastor Silas was offering time, which was when a bullet from someone in the crowd who were dancing forward for offering had hit him down dead. Gabriel was among those who had rushed to him the moment pastor Silas was brought down by the bullet, not only had Gabriel shot him, he had also rushed to him to confirm if certainly, Silas was dead. So it was not that Gabriel considered the mission of bringing down the Elu-elu boys to be difficult, he was scared of the fact that the attack was not just in his faculty, but also his department. He was also scared of Queen seeing him, he had tried hiding from her ever since he became a cultist but he was always watching her from the moment she comes to class till when she was about to leave. The bush behind the window where he always stayed to receive his lectures made it possible for him to have a clear view of what was happening in the class but she never saw him. He would always watch her come to class alone and go alone, a sign that she was not flirting with any other guy, no doubt, he still loves her. As he went to the car that day, tears dropped from his eyes and he cried for what he had become, he wished to always have Queen with him, but he knows too well how dangerous it was for Queen to be his girlfriend especially now that all the cult group in the school happen to be against the Night crawlers. The moment the night crawler guys left the hall that day, Queen busted into tears, not for those who had been killed and lying on the floor but for the guy whom she loved but was now something else. Just in these two months she had drawn very close to God, she never misses church programs, she had always been praying to God to bring Gabriel back to her but with the situation now, Gabriel is more than a lost soul. She went home that night with heart filled with pains, she was angry with everyone in the hostel, she was even angry with God. As she got home that day, she fell into her bed and slept till around 9pm in the night, she was still with a heavy heart and so she changed into something light and went out of the hostel, into the night to the Dutchman club. The first person to sight her as she walked into the club was John Femi, he was always in the club having Quick ones with girls of different kinds. He dropped his drink as he sighted Queen walking into the club, “I told you, you stay away from this for too long” he smiled to himself as he got up and went towards where Queen was. “Hey princess” he smiled and sat beside her, he slowly placed his hand on her buttocks. “What do you want?” Queen asked as she poured the alcoholic drink she had ordered for into her mouth, “You have come back to us, you have missed the Friday night I guess” he said as he added her another glass of alcoholic drink which she drank willingly, “I know how to help you” He said as he drew her up slowly and led her to a dark corner of the club. Like old days, he drew down her bomber shot and penetrated her slowly, “Still tight” he said as Queen moaned in pleasure, she was drunk, even if she wasn’t she would have still fallen in.

They did what should be done, their normal and after that, John rode her to his house with his car happily. He felt like he was on top of the world, he had gone to the club thinking of Queen and right there she came, looking for him. He managed to hold her as she staggered into his house, she was excessively drunk. “Easy” he told her as he led her to his room and laid her on his bed. The moment her back touched the bed, she was off like that was what she had been waiting for, she slept off.

All the members of the Night Crawlers were meant to be gathered that particular same night so as to celebrate the success of their mission, it was a normal tradition to always celebrate after any successful mission. All of them were already gathered but they weren’t celebrating, someone was missing. Gabriel Eugene wasn’t with them that night, they had tried calling him but he won’t pick any of their call. Some boys had been sent earlier to go and fetch him from the hostel but they had come back with the news that he was not there. No one knew where he had disappeared to after the mission, he just vanished like the thin air with no trace of where he was.

Gabriel stared at his phone, it was ringing again and this one makes it fifty. It was no other person than his friend Israel, he must be expecting him to be at the base now to celebrate with them but no, he wasn’t going, he was at the famous hall 2 car park, he had been there since 6pm waiting to see Queen, he had been hoping he would see her walk into the hostel so he can talk things with her, he knows very well how she would have felt seeing him as a cultist and he knows something has to be done to clarify things. He had been there since 6pm and now, it was 1am of the next day and he has not seen Queen walked into the hostel.

He finally concluded that she might have gone into the hostel before he came to the park or she might have come into the hostel and gone out thereafter. He made up his mind to sleep there, he must surely see her and have a word or two with her. Now he knows how much he loves her, he thought he could get her out of the way with him being a cultist but every now and then, he finds himself thinking of her and the few time they had together. “I need to sleep now” he finally yawned and switched off the phone, he then slept on one of the long chair made of tile which was meant for student to relax. He stretched his leg fully and his whole height took the whole of the chair. “If I don’t see her today, I will surely see her tomorrow” At about 5am the next day, Queen sprang up of the bed with aching head, her heading was banging badly like she was being hit with something.

She looked at her right hand side and saw John sleeping and snoring. She tried to remember what had happened the previous day but the only thing she could remember was when John Femi walked up to her. She hit him heavily and he jumped up from the bed, “what did you do with me?” she asked him without even a greeting of good morning, “I don’t understand you” he answered, “what happened last night?” she asked again and he smiled, “What initially use to happen every Friday night” He smiled and immediately, a slap landed on his face. “How dare you?” she shouted angrily, “Hey calm down dear” john smiled, “Don’t get yourself worked up over a guy who doesn’t care about you, that Gabriel of a guy has moved on with his life and you are here killing yourself over him” John said,

“Is there a secret I should let you know, the night crawlers where that guy belong to don’t allow you to keep the girl you love before being initiated into the confraternity, to them, old thing s are passed away” John continued and it was like he was getting her. “Fine, I am also a cultist but even at that, I still care about you, I think about you every day, I go to that club every night hoping to see you walking to me one day. Look at him, when last has he called you? He doesn’t care about you anymore because where he is now, he is getting all what he wants. I also can get any girl I want but I choose not to because I have only one girl in mind and that is you.

Ever since I knew you from Delta, I have always saw something happening between us. Do you think I will just waste my money to travel all the way from Benin City to Delta just to have a quick one? No. I always love and cherish you and I want you as my own.” He concluded and stared at Queen. A wise man once said “girls are greatly deceived by what they hear” and sure John had successfully managed to place doubt in her, yes they say true love never dies, after all John had said, she found herself contemplating on if she should continue with Gabriel who had probably forgotten about her or with John who was willing to have her. Even upon all the doubts, she still found out there is a huge pool of feelings for Gabriel in her but for the main time, she should try and see what John can offer since Gabriel wasn’t bothered about her. “I will think of what you have said” she told him and he smiled happily, one of his friends had told him that “When a girl tells you she will think about it, she is yours”, how true? He held her hand and stared into her eyes, “please think of it” he said and just then there was rumbling in the clouds, it was about to rain and the cool breeze blew into the room. “what a good weather for Two” he thought as it soon started to rain, it was a good weather for two but no a good weather for the one who was sleeping out the hall 2 hostel, in the hall two car park and being beaten mercilessly by the rain, which came with its full force, Gabriel Eugene.

Gabriel stood up from the platform he was sleeping on, he had been soaked badly by the rain and the cold was unbearable, he brought out his phone which was also soaked by the rain, the time was just 5:30am.

“What is this?” He asked himself as he sat on the platform staring at the cloud, there was no hiding place for him now, he just sat and continued to bear the impact of the rain on him, the rain wasn’t also helping matters, it continued to fall with full force like that was the day the lord had destined to destroy the world with rain again.

“Now sleep, I will drop you in your hostel by morning” John told him and she willingly laid on the bed, not to sleep, but to think. Yes, Gabriel had been ignoring her, he had never called her ever since he became a cultist but the truth still remains that she still loves him more than any other, there is this connection she has with him, she can’t just bring herself to stop loving him. She turned and stared at John who seem to be sleeping peacefully, now he might think he has gotten her at the right spot but she has her plan. Since it seems Gabriel had gotten another girl, she should use John as a way to see if Gabriel still have something for her, if Gabriel is truly with another girl then he wouldn’t care if she moves on with another guy or not but if it isn’t so, then it would kill him to see her with John Femi. Her plan seem to her to be perfect but then she came to realize that they were both cultist and if she takes such actions, she might end up causing a big clash between the two cult groups and that will surely lead to shed of blood. At exactly 6am, she woke up and prepared to go back to the hostel, John was ever willing to drop her off.

He drove her off to the hostel where Gabriel was, this time the rain had subsided a bit. He was now just strolling around, when John’s car stopped in front of him, he was surprise to see Queen coming out of it, this was the same Queen he got drenched for, the same girl he had changed drastically now going back to her old way of life. “Gabriel” Queen called more like a whisper, she was obviously shocked to see Gabriel right there. “I can see you have gone back to him, nice reunion” Gabriel smiled as he pointed at John who was just coming out of the car. “Hey Gabriel, you shouldn’t be harassing my girl in public” John said as he made to draw Queen away, Gabriel smiled and drew her back as he stared directly at John. “I can see she is your girl, I have no plan of harassing her” He said to John and them turned to Queen, “I have been lying there all night, I was beaten by the rain, I waited for you all night but what do I get? You went back to him, him of all people, I am proud of you”

He told her, Queen had wanted to say something but John immediately drew her from him and together, they walked towards the hostel. Gabriel stood still at the spot and stared at himself then to his broken phone, he then turned back to look at John and Queen who were walking hand in hand. He stared at them for some time before he turned to go, as he walked away, tears could be seen falling off his eyes, he was crying. Of course, seeing him there that morning was shocking to Queen, she had never expected that Gabriel will come back looking for her, she had thought he had forgotten her forever.

She had been short of words and depressed that morning, she didn’t know what to say so she had simply allowed them to have their way with the talking, thank God it didn’t result into a big fight. She heard him say he had slept outside waiting for her and he had been beaten by the rain, when he had said that, the love she had for him had multiplied but at that moment she wasn’t in the right frame of mind to say anything. “I wish I can follow you into the hostel but you know it is forbidden” John said bringing her back from her thoughts, she had even forgotten she was with him, she had been so enveloped with the thought of Gabriel. “Yes, you shouldn’t follow me to the hostel, you have indeed tried by coming this far” she said with no expression on her face, “Okay then, let me be on my way” John smiled, “Of course you should” she answered and made to walk into the hostel but he drew her back. “You don’t just leave without a kiss or a hug” He smiled, she stared at him for a while, eyed him and then beat his hand of hers, “Remember, I am not your girlfriend” She said and followed it with a long hiss before walking away, as she walked into the hostel, tears fell off her eyes, she remembered having a one night stand with him the previous night.

He cleaned up the tears on his face as he walked away, he was angry, he had never been so angry. This was the same girl he had helped coming out of her past and now she had gone back it, he regretted ever knowing her, if he had known that was the kind of cheap fellow she was, he would have just used her like every other guy does. He stared at his phone again, this time it was ringing but the screen had refused to come on due to the impact of the rain. Out of anger, he flung the phone and all in it into a nearby bush, everything was just not going right for him. He soon got to the hostel.

Thank God no one was around, he simply freshened up and laid on the bed to sleep, maybe sleeping might just resolve everything.

Immediately Queen entered into her hostel, she dialed Gabriel’s number.

It was ringing, but he was not picking, she called about twenty time before throwing the phone on her bed. Her roommates were not around so it was a good time to cry. She was ashamed of herself, she knew her bad she would have felt if she was Gabriel and he was Queen.

About five hours later of the same day, Gabriel was still on his bed but not sleeping, he was obviously thinking about his life. Everything had started to go wrong since he joined the foolish cult group. “I am just tired of life” He murmured to himself and made to get up, just then he heard a knock on his door. He went to the door and without asking who it was, he opened it slowly, it was Queen standing there. He smiled as he saw her, she was standing there with a white top and blue jeans, from her eye color, she must have been crying. “Good afternoon” She greeted as she stood outside the door, “Sorry, I don’t pay to have sex with prostitute” He smiled and slammed the door on her.

“Gabriel, you just called me a prostitute” Queen said as tears immediately began to flow down her cheeks. “Excuse me, was I lying about that?” Gabriel asked with no sign of remorse, “No, you didn’t lie, you are right, I am a prostitute, thank you very much for everything, and I really appreciate” She told him and turned to walk away. He had the urge to call her back but his pride wouldn’t let him. He watched her walk away out of his presence, out of his compound and then tears slowly started to drop from his eyes, he loves her, he really do.

As she walked out of the compound, she ran towards a tree and immediately bursted into tears using the tree as a support to stand. “He called me a prostitute” She said continuously as she cried. Yes, he was very right, she had displayed the exact act of a prostitute the day before by sleeping with John but if there is someone to call her a prostitute, it was not to be Gabriel.

She cried for about 20 minutes before finally wiping off her tears. As she walked down the road back to the hostel, she was determined not to go back to him begging again, she still love him but she won’t go to him for a talk, she would always continue to love him in silence even if he doesn’t come back to her, he is the only guy that had succeeded in turning her from her wayward self to a bit of a better person. Even if he ends up with another girl, she would still continue to love him in silence but never will she go back to him unless he comes to her. He is a good and true guy unlike other guys who will only want to sleep with her and go, he was never interested in sex, he had loved her even after he knew the kind of person she was but everything thing changed the night he came back to tell her he was a cultist. She tried to flashback to the first time she had met him, she had always seen him in class but they never came close no to talk of them having a discussion, the first time she had caught him staring at her was during the fresher welcome night party, he was just sitting on a table close to where she was dancing, she had seen him staring at her continuously and she had thought he wanted to dance with her but someone else was already doing that. The surprising thing about him that day was that of all drinks he should have taken, he was busy enjoying himself with the bottle of water he had in his hand. After that moment, she had gone drunk and couldn’t remember and she finally landed in his hostel the next morning.

When she had woken up that morning to see him sitting on a chair, she had thought he must have had a fight with the guy she was initially dancing with to have been able to bring her to his hostel. Of course, she had though he must have had her for the night, no Uniben guy would bring a beautiful girl like her home without sleeping with her.

He must be a weak fellow or a learner in sleeping with girls because unlike when other guys sleep with her overnight, she felt no body pain. She stared at him again and saw him staring at her too, he had an innocent face. She got up and asked him for her pay for the sex he had with her but he denied it. She wasn’t going to take that, she had encountered boys like that in the past who had wanted to use her for free but she happen to be just a wise girl who grew up in the ghetto so all these were nothing to her. She forced him to pay her the money and he did with sorrow and bitterness. She thought she was wise until she got home to discover that her menstrual pad was still on her, it was then she knew she had extorted him unjustly. She had promised herself to look for him and refund him back his money with a serious apology but the next time she had seen him, he got a good round of beating with some boys who had thought he was a thief because he was actually running away from her.

After then, they gradually began to fall in love with each other. What a funny way to meet a guy, he was different from any other guy, always straightforward and truthful, they were just getting to the beginning of their love life when problem set in and he became the cultist who wanted to have nothing to do with her.

Israel got home that day, it had been a bad night and the celebration couldn’t hold because they didn’t see Gabriel. As he stepped into the house, he was surprised to see Gabriel’s foot wear just outside the door. “Gabriel” he called with relief as he entered into the room, he was shocked to meet his friend crying.

“What is wrong with you?” He asked Gabriel, since he had known Gabriel, he hardly sees Gabriel cry, it was rare. Gabriel didn’t answer him, he continued with his silent cry. Now Israel began to think about the one thousand and one wrong things that must have made his friend cry. “Bro, what is it?” Israel asked again and this time, Gabriel opened up and narrated all that had since the previous night. “You see something about love, it is something you can’t hide, I will advise you to swallow your pride and go have a talk with her, finds out who she wants, and if John Femi is the one forcing himself on her, then there might be another clash between us again” Israel told him, “But, most importantly, you should go talk to her first, a simple talk will go a long way” Israel patted him. Gabriel thought he was right, that was the best thing to do, talk.

It was another fine weekend, John Femi car drove into the hall two car park, he had come to see Queen. He had called her the previous day on phone and had told her he would come to take her out the next day for shopping. Queen didn’t object, she was actually looking for a way to calm herself and going for shopping wouldn’t be a bad idea. She soon came out to meet him, she was just dressed in a simple wear. “Good afternoon” She greeted John with a forced smile, Just returned her greeting and hugged her lightly, as they were still exchanging pleasantries, a taxi drove into the park and stopped, the inhabitant was Gabriel and the first thing his eyes caught was John opening the door for Queen to get in, he felt really bad because he had actually come to talk.

He wasn’t bothered, he only smiled as he sat in the taxi and watched them zoom off leaving the hall 2 car park. “Follow that car, I will pay you well” he told the taxi driver who nodded his head and also zoomed off following John’s car. The taxi was just leaving the car park when Gabriel picked his phone and placed a call to Rabbi. “Rabbi Man, the new generation prophet” Gabriel hailed over the phone, “I want you to do me a favor Rabbi” Gabriel started, “That capon of the pipeline guys is driving somewhere with my girl, we are approaching June 12, arrange the boys, let us make his death a memorable one” Gabriel said. “At last, you have finally agree to have us kill this guy, I will arrange the boys and even make the capon follow us, the death of the capon of the pipeline guys should be an indeed memorable one” Rabbi said over the phone, from the way he talked, it was obvious he was happy with the news. “You guys should make it quick before he leaves here, I will try keep you guys in track of where we are at intervals” Gabriel said and with that, ended the call.


Now the taxi driver was sweating profusely, he wasn’t a fool and he sure understood what was going on.


The car he was trailing happen to belong to the capon of the famous pipeline guys, and this guy in his car is planning to bring him down, he hope he doesn’t get involved in the mess, he is a family man.


Seeing the fear on the face of the taxi man, Gabriel bursted into laughter, not that there was anything to laugh about. “Don’t worry man, I promise I won’t hurt you if you don’t try to make any smart move” Gabriel said and patted him, “Okay sir, I won’t be smart sir, as a matter of fact, I am not a smart man” the man stammered and Gabriel busted into another round of laughter, this time, much louder.



John Femi had been noticing the cab that had been following him ever since he drove off the hall 2 car park, he initially thought it was just an ordinary cab man going about his daily duties but his perspective changed when he took a turn into a corner and the cab followed him. It would have been normal if the cab had followed him into a reasonable corner, but the corner he took was an area out of bound from student and no student was allowed there. He had taken the corner to confirm if the cab was following him or not and he had indeed gotten his confirmation.


“Where are we going to?” Queen asked him, she knew where they were was a dangerous area not meant for students. “Change of plans, we go shopping another day” John told her as he picked up his phone and place a call to someone. “Alika the tortoise” John hailed as the receiver picked up his phone, “Capon, you rarely call except there is a problem, put your mind at rest, for the scripture says what: His grace is sufficient for us” Alika said from the other end. “Alika, there is a cab following me, I don’t know the inhabitant, but whosoever it is, I am in trouble, assemble the boys, follow the bush path and come to that area out of bound from students.” John said as fast as he could, this time Queen peeped out of the window to confirm her doubts, there was not only a cab, but also a jeep behind them, the jeep of the night crawlers.



What had happened was that when John was busy taking notice of the cab following him even before he called Alika, Gabriel had called to inform his boys about the change in direction and luckily for them, that restricted area was very close to the base of the “Night crawlers” just a stone throw. “John, there are two cars after us” Queen told John, she was now sweating and stammering.


“Shut up if you don’t want me to push you out of my car” John shouted and then an idea came into him. Those after him might possibly be the night crawlers. They might be following him because he has Queen, pushing Queen out of the car will distract them and make them stop to pick her, with that, he can gain some distance on them. What about if they are not the night crawlers? Then they will have her killed, anyways, his own safety first. “Sorry Queen, we will continue our love life in our next life” John said and immediately kicked her through the door which he had unlocked, she fell to the smooth, fine sand of the road, she obviously got injured. “Stop!!” Gabriel ordered the taxi man and the man immediately came to a halt. Gabriel jumped down of the cab and signaled to the night crawlers jeep behind them to continue moving, they must not let John get away. He had seen Queen fall and he immediately ran towards her.


It is no longer a news that the night crawlers is the most dreaded cult group in the university. The secret behind their success isn’t farfetched, the night crawlers unknown to other cult groups have spies in all other cult group in the university and the pipeline guys cult is not just an exception. They have an informant in the group and he is only useful whenever the two cult are to have a clash. The moment Alika informed them about the situation, the informant had immediately put a call to his members to inform them of the pipeline plans.


“Queen, are you alright?” Gabriel asked queen as he bent beside her, she was in pain but was still very much conscious. She smiled on sighting Gabriel, so he had come back for her? “Gabriel” she called him slowly as her hands reached for his head. “Yes, are you alright?” he asked her again, this time he made to help her up. She nodded her head as she rested her head on his chest, it was then he remembered there was an ongoing mission.


“We need to get out of here, there is a mission that need to be accomplished” Gabriel told her as he helped her into the taxi. It would have been good if this had happened apart from now, there is danger looming around the corner this period. “Gabriel, I am sorry” Queen apologized as they got into the taxi, “Not the best time to apologize, we would do that proper if we ever live through this day” He told her and then brought out his phone to put a call to someone, “Who are you calling?” She asked him, “The police” He answered and she immediately beat the phone off his ear, “Do you realize that if you call the police, you are also in danger because you are also a cultist and one of them, Let just turn back, leave them alone to kill themselves and let us escape to somewhere” Queen said, “It is not as easy as it seems, if I leave them there, then I have betrayed them and if the night crawlers survive this clash, then they will come back to kill us. Let me call the police so that they will keep you safe, at least, if they get me, then it is what I brought upon myself, I joined the cult by myself and I should face the consequences. I don’t want you harmed, you have nothing in this.


And if I die after today, always remember I love you and always care for you” Gabriel said and the taxi immediately came to an halt, in front of them was the jeep of the night crawlers, the inhabitants were still in it and opposite the jeep was the van of the pipeline guys and John’s car, each waiting for who to lunch the first attack. As the taxi came to a halt, Gabriel dialed the number he had wanted to call ever since. “Hello, any problem, is there an emergency?” came the voice from the receiver end, Gabriel stared at Queen and smiled, he then pulled out his gun which had been hidden in his belt all this while, he shot sporadically into the air, “Yes, this is from the university of Benin, there is a clash between two cult groups here, I will text you the address soonest” Gabriel answered as Queen shivered.

“Mr., you need to run, I promised you safety, run into the bush and don’t look back” Gabriel informed the taxi man who was shivering at the front, “Oga, if I leave this car, I don die be that” The man answered him with clenching teeth. “Okay, run, I will cover you” Gabriel said as he crossed the chair and sat beside the driver. “At the count of 3, I will push you out, don’t get up immediately, just crawl into the bushes as I cover up for you” Gabriel told him, the man nodded although he was scared. “Don’t worry man, I promise you safety, take my words for it” Gabriel said and pushed him out of the car without even the count of three. As the man fell off the car, Gabriel immediately took to firing at the pipeline van and the members of the night crawlers in the jeep also opened fire at the van. The driver immediately got up and made to run into the bush, just then a bullet hit his back. As he fell his last, he remembered Gabriel words of him not to get up, he should crawl into the bushes. “Jesus Christ!!”Queen shouted as she saw the driver fall down dead, “I told him not to get up”


Gabriel said and hit the car’s steering in anger. The night crawlers continued to open fire on the pipeline van and the pipeline also tried to shoot back but the night crawlers were having the upper hand as the bullets were destroying their van. The driver of the van was already dead on the steering and further delay in the van will yield more dead pipeline guys, so to be on a safe side, the pipeline guys began to dive into the bushes. On seeing this, the Night crawlers quickly alighted from their jeep and took cover behind the opened doors of the jeep. Israel and Rabbi were the ones in front, the took cover behind the front doors of the jeep, Mike, Carlos, Mathew and some other prominent member of the Night crawlers took cover behind the back door while Gabriel remained in the taxi with Queen. “I will need to go there also” Gabriel turned to Queen,


“No, don’t dare, I don’t want you dead” Queen begged holding his hand tight. “Sorry Queen, I have to go and fight with them, whatever happen out there, don’t move an inch from this car” Gabriel told her and made to alight from the car, “Gabriel” Queen called him back from the car before he got down, “I love you” She told him and immediately planted a kiss on his lips. He stared at her for a while, smiled and then went out of the car, he used the door to the front side of the cab as a cover to himself. No one was shooting yet, each still waiting for the other to start. Gabriel whistled to Mathew who was just in front of him, he turned to face Gabriel. “You guys should cover for me, am going towards John” Gabriel told him and Mathew immediately alerted the rest. Gabriel took one last deep breath and like a sprinter ran towards the free space between the pipeline van and the night crawlers jeep. Gunshots could immediately be heard from different angles, the pipeline guys were shooting at Gabriel and the night crawlers were retaliating and making sure Gabriel was well covered. As Gabriel got closer to their van, he turned left to look into the bushes and behold, a gun was pointed at him by one member of the pipeline guys, he knew well that if he run and the guy shots the gun, he is a dead man, so to make himself safe, he took a dangerous dive towards the bottom of the van so that the bullet mixed him. He rolled out of the van and looked towards John’s car which was still some distance from the van.


“Happy death day” He said as he aimed at John’s tinted windscreen, he believe John was still in the car as he did not see John run or come out of the car. He shot at the windscreen destroying it and behold, no one was in the car. “I am smarter than that” he heard someone say from behind him, whosoever the person was, the person pointed a gun to his head. Gabriel turned his neck a little and saw John pointing a gun to his skull, he prayed silently. “Now, just turnaround slowly and follow me” john told him. He compiled and followed John to the open space, to the view of the night crawlers. “Now drop your gun and surrender or I kill him” John shouted to the night crawlers who began to drop their gun slowly. Gabriel stared at the face of Israel, he was surprised to see Israel smiling. Suddenly, there was a gunshot from behind and John immediately fell down dropping his gun, someone had shot his leg.


Gabriel immediately took possession of his Gun and pointed it at John as the person who had shot him came out of the bush. It was Kelvin, the informant of the night Crawlers among the Pipeline guys. “Thank you Kelvin” Gabriel said while Kelvin smiled, just then another gunshot was heard from behind them and Kelvin drop down dead, he had also been shot by one of the pipeline guys in the bushes. Gabriel immediately rolled away from the scene so that he won’t also be shot, John took that opportunity and made to limb into the bush but he was unlucky as a bullet from Gabriel caught his other leg and once again he fell.


Obviously, the pipeline guys wouldn’t want their Capon dead so out of the bushes ran one of them with full speed and shooting randomly, he ran towards where John was, he might had not known that Gabriel was Just there hiding behind their van, before he could get John up, a bullet from Gabriel went directly into his head and he fell down dead. John tried to crawl away again and this time he almost succeeded but he was shot dead by Gabriel, the capon of the Pipeline guys was shot dead by Gabriel.


“Your capon is dead, we might give you eternal life if you choose to surrender now” Rabbi shouted with pride and happiness, just then out of the bushes, Alika came forth and began to shoot towards the night crawlers Jeep. The night crawlers immediately guided themselves again using the doors to their Jeep which took the bullets for them. “Hold on guys, I will get him” Rabbi said as he crawled towards the back of the jeep, Alika couldn’t see him as the jeep covered him. Rabbi crawled towards the back of the jeep and then towards the cab which Queen was in. He looked across to Alika who was still shooting at their Jeep, he must have been so engrossed in the shooting that he didn’t see Rabbi run from the cab side into the bushes behind Alika. Rabbi crawled slowly and silently in the bushes until he was just behind Alika. Without wasting time, he immediately shot two straight bullets to Alika’s back and the young man fell down dead. Rabbi with a smile got up and stared at Alika’s dead body. “Two of your leaders are dead, give up now, you can be granted the chance of eternal life, for the book of James 4:6 makes us know that grace is giveth unto the humble” Rabbi shouted and immediately, the remaining members of the night crawlers roared the slang “Ride on pastor!!”. Gabriel who was not far from where Rabbi was standing smiled at how Rabbi used the scripture to emphasize his points. As he stared at Rabbi, he eyes caught something behind Rabbi in the bushes, a member of the Pipeline guy was in the bush and was about to shoot at Rabbi. On seeing this, Gabriel with all the speed he could mutter ran towards Rabbi,


“fall Rabbi” Gabriel shouted, Rabbi immediately fell down flat, he had gone on many missions with Gabriel and they had gotten to understand each other. As Rabbi fell, Gabriel did a dangerous dive and released a bullet to the guy, the guy also pulled his trigger and a bullet caught Gabriel’s leg. The guy was unfortunate as the bullet Gabriel had shot at him caught his chest and he fell his last. “Gabriel” Rabbi called as he got up and stared at the injured Gabriel, he got up and dragged Gabriel away from the open area towards their jeep. “You guys should go, go and kill them all” Gabriel instructed the night crawlers. “Kelvin told me there were seven guys coming, 3 are down now, 4 to go” Israel informed his boys, “we are more than them, you guys should go into the bushes and kill them, I go with you” Israel told his boys. “Gabriel, use your gun to defend yourself and don’t leave here” Israel said and Gabriel nodded, “Thank you for saving my life” Rabbi patted him, Gabriel smiled, “You have saved mine a lot of times” Gabriel patted him back and he bounced away, if there is someone Gabriel have grown to be fond of among the Night crawlers, it should be Rabbi, the new generation pastor.


Queen still remained in the cab, she was frightened to come out, she had seen Gabriel being dragged to the Jeep side, she had wanted to come out and help but she remembered Gabriel warning of her not to come out no matter what so she stayed back. As she remained peeping at Gabriel, a guy from the bush crawled out with a gun and advanced towards Gabriel, he was advancing slowly and silently so that Gabriel won’t notice. Queen knew she shouldn’t remain in the cab any longer, she stretched her hand for the spanner that was lying just beside her leg and she slowly opened the door to the cab with shivering hands and advanced towards the guy who was about to pull the trigger, with all the strength she could mutter, she hit the guy’s head hard with the spanner and he immediately fell down unconscious. Gabriel being attracted turned back and pointed the gun to whosoever, he found himself pointing the gun at Queen who was shivering, he stared at the floor and saw the guy who was bleeding from the head. “You saved my life” Gabriel said, but Queen didn’t reply as she was too scared to talk. Gabriel tried to get up and limb towards her, just then the sound of gunshot filled the bushes. “I think you should go back to the cab now” Gabriel said to her and she quickly hurried into the cab.


The gunshot continued for about ten minutes and after that, from the bushes, Israel, Rabbi and two more Night crawlers guys could be seen coming towards him, they had won the fight. Gabriel smiled on seeing them approaching, they also smiled at him as they walked towards him. They were just getting close when the police siren was heard, “Run” Israel ordered the two boys, “Rabbi, let’s get Gabriel out of here” Israel turned to Rabbi as the two guys ran away, “Don’t worry about me, I have my way out, you guys should run” Gabriel told them, “Are you sure?” Rabbi asked him, “Rabbi, you should trust me that I always have a way” Gabriel smiled and Rabbi nodded, “Let’s go capon” Rabbi said to Israel and they turned to run away. Silently, Gabriel cocked his gun and shot at their both legs, Rabbi and Israel’s leg, they both fell down in shock as they turned their neck slowly to stare at Gabriel, just then the police van closed up on them. “It is the police, drop your weapons and put your hands where we can see them” The police ordered from their vans as some of them ran towards Israel and Rabbi, they drew them up and dragged them into the van, about two of them also ran towards Gabriel who made no attempt to escape.


“Just like the son of man, I have been betrayed” Rabbi smiled as he was led to the back of the van.
