I don't think your pastors should emulate John the Baptist. Even Christ did not emulate John the Baptist! John’s disciples often fasted and prayed, and so did the disciples of the Pharisees, but Jesus' disciples ate and drank.

What the pastors should do is spend their money more intelligently. Funding hospitals would be a good start instead of peddling fake miracles.

If anything, it is the people who give the pastors money who need to emulate Christ and John the Baptist and go out and invite the poor and needy to their banquets instead of the already wealthy and belly fulled.

• John was the Last Old Law prophet chosen and sent by God to the people of the land of Canaan
• John was the the reincarnation of Elijah
• God spared Elijah death by the hand of the King and Queen in the land of Judah, but after he returned as John, God allowed the King and Queen of Judah do to him as they saw fit.

So exactly what aspect of John's life so you pretend is possible for your religious gods of men to emulate?
