That should be about right, I served in Ekiti and exam malpractice is like a norm even though it is common in most states but I think maybe they usually cheat so well to be able to rank that high. This year don cast them

that's a big lie, do you know how many jamb centres were banned due to the high rate of malpractices in the east?
For you to cheat in jamb shows you're a master cheater
Can you explain what you mean by I cheat on Jamb Please I deals on facts not presumption. Kindly read, this was the last survey done by exam ethics Marshal

According to the report, the EEI is calculated based on
the composite number of candidates, principals,
teachers, supervisors, invigilators and schools
sanctioned for malpractices by public examination
bodies for the period and geopolitical unit under
consideration.
“It is the measure of the number of candidates and
exam administrators that respected the rules and
regulations of examinations out of every 100 that
participated in such examinations. The inverse, Exam
Malpractice Index (EMI), is the measure of the
number of people sanctioned for malpractices, out of
every 100 that participated in the examination,” the
report said.
It named the North-east geopolitical zone as the
most ethics-friendly zone in with an EEI of 7.05%
. The North-central zone came second with and EEI of
84.09%, while South-west came third with EEI of
83.26. South-east, North-west and South-south
emerged fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
Yobe State emerged the National Exam Ethics
Golden State with Exam Ethics Index of 89.57% while
the FCT ranked second with 89.21% to emerge the
2012 National Exam Ethics Silver state.
Bauchi State ranked third with Exam Ethics Index of
88.51% to emerge National Exam Ethics Bronze
state.
Forthe zonal Exam Ethics Golden States, it said FCT,
Yobe, Kano, Abia, Oyo and Edo States ranked number
one in Exam Ethics Index in their various zones to
emerge the leader in their respective geopolitical
zones.
The group regretted the fact that 18 out of every 100
people that participated in examinations in Nigeria
last year were indicted for malpractices, which it said
were a cause for serious concern, despite slight
improvement registered between 2011 and 2012
The statistics also showed that Bayelsa State has the
highest number of de-recognised schools(13),
followed by Delta (12), Ondo (eight), Kaduna (seven),
Cross River (seven), Imo (seven), Plateau (six), Rivers
(six) Kogi (five) Lagos (five) Nasarawa (five), Sokoto
(four) and Anambra (four). No school was de-
recognised in Taraba, Ebonyi, Borno, Niger, Adamawa,
FCT and Yobe.

It indicated that South-south has the highest number
of de-registered schools (35.1 percent), followed by
South-west (19.3 per cent), North-central (15.7
percent), North-west (15 percent), South-east (13.2
percent), and North East (1.7 percent).

“Progress in the education sector is paralysed by the
iron grip of examination malpractice, which has
metamorphosed into virtually risk-free highly lucrative
organised criminal activity controlled by syndicates,
some of whose members are embedded in
ministries, institutions and examination bodies as
workers.
“Instead of being centres of excellence, some
educational institutions have become places where
youths are weaned on diets of fraud and dishonesty to
breed ready recruits for corruption. A good number of
principals, lecturers, teachers, supervisors, invigilators
and examination administrators entrusted with
responsibility to protect integrity of the examination
process are the very people that aid, abet and collude
to perpetrate malpractice for monetary and other
inducements,” the report said.

The Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Abdulrasheed has disclosed that Nigerian Universities have not been ranked for several years.

Speaking in Abuja after the 2018 budget defense, he said the NUC had just constituted a high powered Committee headed by the erstwhile Executive Secretary, Professor Peter Okebukola to advise the Commission on the ranking of Nigeria Universities.

He stressed that for lack of ratings of Universities in Nigeria for quite sometime, some group of people would use social media to publish fake ‘ranking of Nigerian Universities.’

“The NUC has constituted a high powered Committee to reposition Nigerian Universities.

“They include prominent academicians to help produce good, quality post graduate studies.

“The Committee which is chaired by former Executive Secretary, Professor Peter Okebukola will help to review our curriculum for Nigeria Universities.

“NUC has not ranked any University for several years. The Committee will advise us on ranking of Universities because we have not done that for several years,” he said.
According to him, the NUC ha drafted a document that will reduce academic period for PhDs to a minimum of three years.

He also added that Universities in Nigeria were being positioned to ensure that PhD holders would be retained after graduation, saying, other African Universities had expressed their readiness to cooperate with Nigeria.

You are the one being ignorant, the Webometrics ranking is produced by the Cybermetrics Lab based in Spain, while The National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria is a government commission promoting quality higher education in Nigeria.
Functions of NUC
Granting approval for all academic programmes run in Nigerian universities;
Granting approval for the establishment of all higher educational institutions offering degree programmes in Nigerian universities;
Ensure quality assurance of all academic programmes offered in Nigerian universities; and Channel for all external support to the Nigerian universities.

Webometrics ranking can be influence, the Webometrics University Ranking is a ranking system based on university web presence, visibility and web access.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has expressed shock over what he called mass failure of the indigenes from the state, in the 2018 May/June West African School Certificate Examination.

Adeyeye blamed it on the “systemic” breakdown of education in the state under Governor Ayodele Fayose.

This was contained in a press release signed by his media aide, Bayo Ojo, on Friday.

“One is shocked with the abysmal mass failure of Ekiti students in the recently released WAEC 2018 results placing the state on number 23 out of 36 states.

“We have earlier cried to the public that the celebrated achievement of coming first in NECO examination was as a result of concerted efforts made by Oni/Fayemi administrations to reposition the education sector.

“It takes time for a seed to germinate and bear fruits.

The results of the giant strides of the two administrations and huge investment in pedagogical and infrastructural facilities was undeservedly appropriated by Fayose as his achievements.

“One wondered then how you could achieve such outstanding result without any investment whatsoever in infrastructural and human capital development. Fayose was claiming that he could reap without sowing. Now the deceit has finally been exposed,” it read.

May/June Waec is different from NECO. Now, has Ekiti state ever placed first in either Waec or Neco during the administration of any of the former Governors in Ekiti state? Education experts has faulted Waec officials for this year's performance.
