Obviously they need security escorts because their kingdom is of this world. If truly they are sons of God, they don't need escorts but put their trust in angels.

It's definitely not a bad thing since everyone needs protection particularly in a country as volatile as Nigeria

But my grouse with the pastors is the lies they tell their congregation by making them believe that once you have God's anointing you have nothing to fear from anyone.

One of this is true, they are lying to you and are being realistic with themselves, or those guards are not there your eyes are deceiving you.

Or maybe the simple truth is this, they have little power and know they are liars but people believe them and so they continue, not to forget all the money they are getting, but of course they know that their game powers cannot stop bullet so they need protection.

Yes. The reason is because they will be crowded when ministering.You can imagine I went for a church program and the pastor prayed on a cloth to be distributed. As he passed the cloth to the next person, he was grabbed by a lady. From there other persons join in holding him after the cloth was distributed.

As the church grows the need for security increases. Even some dedicated members of the church can be appointed as such to prevent some over zealous members from stamping him. I know some people will cry scam but imagine if angels were physically moving with him with flaming sword, shield and spear nobody will attend service out of fear.

The Bible says "WATCH AND PRAY". We are not to pray alone but also be watchful because we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil.

Security is something applicable in everyday life even up to our homes. Its like asking why people build houses and put doors or burglary proof windows.

Ultimately protection is of God but we are encouraged to do the little we can despite having confidence in God. It is still God who would work in the hearts of the security personnel to either do their job efficiently or not.

Men of God need and DESERVE security because they are the focus of a lot of attacks and vices and as such, must prevent what is humanly preventable while leaving those beyond human interventions to God.

Its like asking why men of God should brush their teeth or comb their hair or take a bath, after all God should be able to clean their teeth, brush their hair and give them a bath himself.

What do you think the bible meant when it said, "If God does not watch over a city, the watch Men watch in vain" it means that watch men have their place and God has his own place too in watching over you. The two works together. The Bible didn't condemn the duties of the watchmen rather there should be a correlation between the watchmen and God in guiding you.

Well No, they shouldn't. Except if they will personally pay for it. It's wrong for them to take from church contribution to protect themselves and their families alone while the congregation are facing the same security challenges.

Rather they should donate the money to the police force for the greater good.

In the Gospels, Jesus Christ called His followers to be slaves to others - slaves generally need no escorts particularly of the security kind.

When Jesus Christ sent His followers out to spread the news across the land, in twos, He asked them to carry no weapons with which to protect themselves and no oney bags either - this mission also meant as a serious exercise in learning to trust God for all of their needs, including protection.

So when I see your many Pastors and Preachers walking around with security details/ entourage, I wonder what happened to trusting God?

Security is common sense. Anyone who feel their life is threatened have choice and responsibility to keep himself or themselves safe . Even Jesus to several Security measures to protect himself.
