Change of climate must come with a change of attitude by many people in and around the world, not only in Abeokuta, so that we are not perpetually visited by unsolicited disasters like this. Condolences to the bereaved. We must change the nonchalance associated with the environment especially issues relating to non-degradable solid waste disposal as we can see that plastics and other synthetic materials dumped into drains exacerbates the flooding situation and hence associated lose of lives.

Won't blame govt for this flood cos we ourselves ain't helping issues on ground at all.... Some illiterate morons will know they have one refuse in the house whenever rain starts falling asleep start pouring it inside the drainage for it to be washed away, which ain't making sense at all, if u check some of the pics, u see what am saying and my points..

Nigerians continue dying in their homes. If hunger no kill them, armed robbers will take over. when armed robbers failed to show, Buhari will send his assassins, Fulani herds men. If those idiots masturbate and forget to do their jobs, the evils in Nigeria will conjure one thing to take innocent lives. This time na flood.

We need rapture asap.

Be careful of what you says... Those people that died might be your people because the last time I checked not only indigenous people that live in Abeokuta.

which climate change. This is is what happens when we block drainage channels due to our activities. The forest and farmlands in Abeokuta were not flooded

But did our leaders plan ahead of the effect of the climate change ? In a sane society, leaders would always plan for the unexpected. I was in Abeokuta and witnessed the horrible situation. The so called odo ogun is overdue it's dredging but the governor wouldn't see it because he's less concerned. He's busy constructing bridges in places where bridges are not needed, just to embezzle, Our leaders don't even believe in climate change. They just want to come, eat as much as they can and go. That's why I've been an advocate of youth leadership. Go get your pvc and vote out the corrupt old leaders. They'd soon come and share money amongst you to vote for them. The blood of those innocent young boys who died in the flood would forever be on the heads of our leaders who know the truth but won't do it. You can save many people from dying only if you vote wisely in 2019.

So sad. RIP.

Sometimes it's like a crime to be born in 9ja.

I guess nobody predicted heavy rains that can flood such areas.

Flash floods do happen, but how did the authorities respond here?

Where are those useless e-warriors from that region with cone-shaped skulls who always masturbate over issues of flood in the south east? Now, it's becoming clearer to them that it is a natural thing in this shithole.

Rest in peace dear ones.

I noticed a bridge on that same place meaning that they built on a natural flood plane.

A proper drainage system would have reduced the effect of that flood and lastly people should runaway from any natural flood plane because Nature takes what belongs to it whenever it wants most especially if the people there don't put enough measure to reduce its wrought.
