Afterschool Centre for Career Development is a capacity development organization committed to assisting young persons in transitional stages of their lives set goals and walks them through the achievement of such goals. The Project provides growth opportunities and self as well as career development interventions for and with young people enabling them transit seamlessly from school to work.

As part of its objectives to proving learning and mentoring opportunities for people in Nigeria, Afterschool Centre for Career Development is hosting the second edition of its Digital Summer Academy for Adolescents (Age 13- 23 years).Metamorphosed from the ACCD Pre-Tertiary programme which focused on delivering Career Development programming for Secondary School leavers- engaging them objective career conversations about their career decisions, providing tools and services to enable them move into their preferred courses of discipline or create career paths in their jobs/skills acquisition endeavours.

The Digital Summer Academy is narrowing the experiences of the ACCD Secondary School leavers programme with a deeper focus on improving the digital skills of young people in our community and enabling their learning, employment and engagement in the Digital Communications and Technology Industry. The Academy which is run under its Digital Footprint Initiative is aimed at improving the digital skills of young people in our community and enabling their learning, employment and engagement in the Digital Communications and Technology industry.

Scheduled for August 6th – 31st 2018,the programme curriculum covers Career Counselling/Mentoring, Excursions to Tech Firms, Blogging, Website design/Development, Animation/Video production, Social Media Management, Psychometric test, Android App Development , Graphics Design, Free Software Installations, Google Tools, Cyber Security, Course modules and e-books, Finance and Accounting as well as a #DSAHotseat session with leading professionals in Nigeria.

The 2018 Digital Summer Academy holds thus:

Criteria for participation: Young people are- 13 – 23 years
