theoldpretender: It's not even about money. if all government officials (added together) stop looting whatever and wherever they can, there would be enough money to double the production capacity every 2 to 3 years. If local gangsters (stop calling them youths, I beg!!!) stop extorting money from investors and developers, if the politicians spend every naira presented on the federal contracts instead pocketing 95% of it... then maybe, just maybe, Nigeria can improve gradually over the next 20-30 years. However, the way it works now... A tender will be issued by the government for the building of a power plant. The contractor will deliver the tender documentation with the quote of, let's say, N100 million. Then the decision maker will call the contractor and say hey, we like your offer. However, there is a problem with your quote. It should be N1 billion. Please correct it and come back tomorrow. The contractor already knows how it all works and will comply with the request for change in the quotation. In the end, something that could cost under N100m will be paid 10 times more. The decision maker (your politician) will pocket 90% of it. But that is not the end of the troubles. The contractor will have to spend a significant portion of the N100m amount to settle local useless !diots (you call them youths), to settle local chiefs etc... and the fact that the contractor doesn't have the whole N100m for the project will force him to use substandard quality of materials and services. So, this way, Nigerians are forced to pay 10 times mroe for the sh!t quality. |

If we want to enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply that is also cheaper than the darkness that we currently pay for, we should buy Solario solar tokens. Each solar token costs just $1.20 and is a voucher for 100 kWh of electricity derived from renewable energy. Buy as many solar tokens as you can afford, you can even buy 1 solar token if you like. Just remember that each token is a voucher for 100 kWh of electricity. https://www.nairaland.com/4616656/how-generate-enjoy-very-cheap
