Airtel have just unveiled a new data package. This package is available on the SmartConnect prepaid plan. Something close to this data package was existing before but it wasn’t available on all Airtel sim cards. With this repackaged Airtel double data offer, you get 100% extra data anytime you subscribe.

According to a statement by Airtel on their Twitter page, it says;

It's a scam...i bought my sim on Wednesday and sub 2.5k but was given 6.5gb instead of 11gb and now my data is exhausted only to find out i used only 5.4gb out of it...run run run

I suspect those having issues of not getting the bonus data upon subscription get to do so when they dial *141# and then the prompt in the attached picture showing "welcome to Smart SPEEDO!" comes up.

I suggest you cancel it and dial again to make sure that Speedo prompt isn't there as seen in the 2nd attachment.

P.S. Do remember as well that the promo is only open to new lines on the Smart Connect 5.0 plan

What i discovered now is that the new Sim sold to me is smartconnect 4.0 overjara reloaded bonus and not the 5.0 double data bonus...but since it's a new Sim i think there should be a way to solve this

Anyways, Incase this airtel bonus plan is giving you wahala, you can also try GLO YAKATA Prepaid plan. It's almost like this one.

How it works;

I'll give an update hopefully on Tuesday after I subscribe to one of the available plans. For now, I'm still flexing my 4GB bonus.
