He spoke in Bauchi weekend while commissioning Small Arms Shooting Range and personnel quarters at the Air Force Base.

He said air operations in Zamfara and other places were being carefully organized, adding that personnel and assets would soon be deployed to support “Operation Sharan Daji”.

He said the NAF had deployed about 1,000 special forces and supported other security agencies against threats.

The Chief of Air Staff said 12 super aircraft were also expected to arrive from the United States.

Governor Mohammed Abubakar said the Bauchi said his administration was planning to hand over Lame Bura Forest to the Air force to establish an air range for its fighter aircraft pilots.

Thanks to the FG/PMB for approving this vital military mission which is going to be
similar to the massive/no-mercy Nigerian Air Force (NAF) air operations when they struck
at criminal hideouts and "camps" harbouring pipeline vandals at AREPO and environs. The
air strikes were in continuation of the aerial bombardment commenced by the NAF on
Thursday 28 July 2016 to rid the affected areas of pipeline vandals and other
criminal elements of over 1000 criminals of Ijaw origin who kidnapped people
for ransom [especially the Oba of Ojo Kingdom who is a first-class Oba
in Lagos State], robbed banks, vandalized pipelines in the creeks of Lagos, Ogun
and Ondo, killed severally people in communities - 40-70 people at a time!


The idiotic bandits in Zamfara who are mainly foreigners from Niger
Republic will be decimated by the Nigerian Airforce just like
the gallant Nigerian Airforce and Special Forces bombarded the criminal Ijaw

The Nigerian air force has released the footage of what it says is a recent raid on the base of militants in the Arepo area of Ogun state.

The video showed two aircraft hovering over a militant camp, which had at least 15 armed men. About five boats were seen beside some makeshift tents in the camp.

In a manner as though they were preparing for battle, one of the militants mounted a gunboat, while others joined him later.

The air force jets initially seen were apparently on a surveillance mission, as three fighter jets were later deployed to the location.

The footage indicated that the jets released missiles into the creeks, but images of the attack strikes themselves were not shown.

Jerry cans and boats used for siphoning crude oil were seen in the video, dated August 1, 2016.

Prior to the operation, which was code-named ‘Operation Awatse’, the militants wreaked havoc on different coastal communities in Lagos and Ogun states.

They killed, robbed, raped, and kidnapped residents of the communities with little or no resistance from security agencies.

The military crackdown is also taking place in Ikorodu, Lagos.
