It's summer holidays again and kids would be home , while a whole lot of parents would either consider dumping the kids in some relatives place or maybe confused on what to do with these wards of theirs. Uyo the capital city of Akwa Ibom State has a better idea, in line with the current realities of Internet of Things and Cloud computing, kids in the city would be opportuned to learn the basics of computing far from the theories in a school , courtesy of Hanson Jonshon the CEO of Start Innovation Hub.

One of the hubs in the Niger Delta region has over the years consistently changed the paradigm and narratives of the region from an oil centered one to that of budding ICT hub, using Uyo as a pivot. Johnson has realised that for the state to be in the know, the need to "catch them young " is imperative - hence the Club Holiday Programme.

Speaking about the project, Johnson said that "We began the 2018 edition of Maker's Club Holiday program with a bang!Though, the opening was such a new experience for the kids/teens as they were introduced to what the idea of Maker's Club is all about."

He also added that "the idea of 'Etiquette in Technology' was another topic unveiled to the kids/teens.We look forward to the subsequent break out sessions beginning from tomorrow."

Children aged between 5 to 7 years old would be open on the basics of learning how to create slides for their final presentation at the end of the programme.

Every Nigerian child deserves a chance to learn how to code. That is why we have taken up the challenge to give them this ride into the future of their career. The club is open to children between 8 and 17 years old with a registration fee of N5,000.00 quarterly.

We are in the forefront of providing young people in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria with a collaborative platform to leverage on technology platforms and create wealth.
