I was called all demeaning names. ...I remember how someone called my hair a place where birds lay their eggs. I received positive comments from people but the hate comments wanted me to quit.
I'm glad I didn't listen to hate comments as I continued my natural hair journey.
When I started my hair journey it was difficult for me cos everything was new to me and I didn't know my hair type. With patience and dedication I have been able to know what works for my hair. The good thing is my hair has grown over the past two years since I started growing my natural hair. The fun fact about my hair is that it shrinks a lot....
Nowadays, I get a lot of compliments from people and I'm glad I never listened to the ill comments from the first thread I created

pls what did you use on it , my hair also twists by itself esp if the weather is kinda cold Nd humid ( I don't know if this is correct ) , I just decided to leave it that way , I am a guy lolx, pls don't criticize me , I have that kinda hair ,it twists and rolls on its own and ends up not been erect after some time , I grew mine a certain time Nd it stayed that way for a long time i.e there was no growth after it got to a point (let's say 10cms long). Is there anything I can use to make the hair normal ? Like to stays erect and stop rolling Nd twisting on by itself.

Your hair IS normal. The afro hair weaves and curls and kinks on its own.

The best way to care for your hair is to use natural hair creams. There are many in the market. Also comb your hair just after a bath, not when it is dry. That makes combing a lot easier. I'm a guy, I would have snapped my afro to show you but I haven't exposed myself on nairaland yet.

Sometimes I like braiding especially box braid, natural hair won't give me the fitting I love, not forgetting the fact that while combing your natural hair, it tends to shed.

sorry but I have to say my hair isn't normal at all, I am no talking of the dread , it rolls and falls and ends up covering my face ...like say I rub relaxer. I went to a specialist , she ran a test , I just wasted money buying the hair oils she said I should buy. Lolx..at the end of the day I end up plaiting or tying up my hair like a lady. Lolx...it's not funny, my mama no born me as woman. It's weird , my hairs weird.
