U.S. Senator John McCain, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam who ran unsuccessfully for president as a self-styled maverick Republican in 2008 and became a prominent critic of President Donald Trump, died on Saturday, his office said.

He was 81.McCain, a U.S. senator from Arizona for over three decades, had been battling glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, discovered by his doctors in July 2017, and had not been at the U.S. Capitol in 2018.

He also had surgery for an intestinal infection in April of this year.His family had announced on Friday that McCain was discontinuing further cancer treatment.

Keep hoping for your ilussion that will never come true. I am not happy with what happened to your friend but harping on it all the time won't help your progress in life. If you hate America so much, there's US Embassy in Abuja or the Consulate in Lagos and you can take your one man protest there and see what your own government will do to you.

Let me tell you the difference here. My grouse against Trump is his bigotry, racism , pathological lies and other vices. It's not about me because i can surely look out for myself. It's for my four children , nephews and nieces and bunch of younger cousins that have to live in a country where people judge them not by contents of their character but by color of their skin. Plus I live in America where the president words and actions of divisiveness affects everyone. Seun lived in Libya and i am sad for what he went through but happy for him that he escaped with his life and he's doing good in Nigeria. He's one of the few guys I really liked on Nairaland. My only grouse with him is his unending critique of America. I am very anti war too and you can check my old posts and confirm that yourself. I never supported any American war and that's my only problem with Obama. WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER.
