Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso will on Wednesday formally declare his intentions to vie for the presidency in Abuja.
Kwankwaso is aiming at becoming the presidential flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party in 2019.



The Senator representing Kano Central will make the announcement at a rally to be held at the Eagle’s Square, Abuja.

This was enclosed in a statement signed by the Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Committee in Abuja on Sunday.

It quoted Kwankwaso as saying, “It is imperative for us to embark on massive infrastructural turnaround across the country with the judicious management of the nation’s resources without necessarily mortgaging the future of the country on excessive foreign loans and its attendant burden.”

The lawmaker promised to “eliminate insecurity in all its forms across the country and return Nigeria to the path of prosperity.”



“Dignitaries from all walks of life from across the country and the Diaspora are expected to attend the declaration”, the statement added.

The former Minister of Defence fought for the ticket in the All Progressive Congress presidential primaries in 2014 but lost to President Muhammadu Buhari.
