Residents of Owerri, the capital of Imo State have taken to social media to register their displeasure over the deplorable state of roads in Owerri, especially when it rains. They asssert that the State capital is overtaken by refuse and this results in flooding when it showers. A concerned Imolite, Floxy Alaneme, shared this on her Facebook wall:

“It pains my heart to actually get to see the the deplorable state of my once upon a time beautiful and amazingly neat state, Imo state

I just couldn’t hold back my disappointment as I strenuously move from one zone to the other ….
Imo has no road …not even a track!

Owerri is now more of a dungeon than a state capital!
