Mgbadike80: I think the fine is good. Some of these companies do not favour us in any way because they have businesses here and its the government business to ensure we benefit. They probably move all their profit back to their country, pay bogus salary to a few to reduce tax they pay to the government and still employ lots of expatriates that they don't even pay in naira. Add that to normal bribery in Nigeria where we teach them how to evade taxes. They won't run anywhere, they make mad money here and exploit us. Same with the UK coming here. Trust me, its not for your own good but for their own interests. They are leaving the EU and they need new places to trade their products. This would affect our local manufacturers when they flood the market. The government is responsible to make sure the deal favors us by making them setup companies here, employing our people and selling in our currency and other policies. |
