there is nothing to rejoice about,nigeria @ 50 is nothing to ordinary masses.we are spending billions on an occasion,when millions of nigerians are jobless,roaming the streets,crime is on the increase,girls have no jobs resorting to prostitution,and some oldies,pot bellied looters still want to loot and chop our money,no way,goodluck should do the unthinkable and declare october 1st as an international day of mourning for nigeria,nigeria is a failed state,we are failing everywhere, see ghana,ghana is growing,while we are still deceiving ourselves that we are the Giant of Africa.

@poster,
what u have writen here may look foolish especially to a typical nigeria.
what u wrote here will make no sense to the pdp led govt.
what u wrote here can never be writen by our journalists.
what u wrote here can never be used or considered by majority of nigerians but i tell u,
u did not write this as a human being but it takes a great form of inspiration to write deep-rooted points like this.
may God bless u for thinking beyond what others think.
may God bless you for voicning it out not minding the what or how we are going to look at it.

what is the happiness of a soldier without rank?
how do u celebrate failure?
if as a failed state, we are wasting N10b in celebration, one will be forced to ask how much it will cost successful states to celebrate their success?
we are doomed.

Absolute crap!!!
If you were the Nigerian President, would you do the same thing If you wouldn't then stop suggesting it!!!

A lot of Nairaland "freedom fighters" only speak because whatever happens really doesn't affect them.

And why do people always bring Ghana into the picture? Ghana is growing? So what? You don't want Ghana to grow? You sound so selfish?

And this kind of mentality will be what will always drive Africa backwards.

BTW, Goodluck doesn't have to declare anything. If you choose to mourn on Nigeria's independence day, feel free to. And you can also mourn Ghana's independence too. . . because they are growing undecided

nothing is wrong with nigeria.it's we nigerians that need re-orientation and change of mind.we can't ruin the hopes and dreams of our founding fathers that was built years ago just because of our selfish interests.
we can't continue to rubbish the nation as if the country itself has no problem.how many nigerians are really up for the challenges of a progressive nigerians other than numerous calls for secession and disunity.
krygyzstan just got approval for a new constitution through a referendum,thailand and greece protested recently against their govts and  economic policies recently: and the issues are nearing being solved.nigerians on the other hand only criticise and condemn without making headway for a solution.when was the last time we had a meaningful and violent protest in nigeria ?
@poster
we are the author of our own destruction cuz nigeria has no problem at all.
