A video, which features a snake with two heads, was recently posted by Dailystar UK.

According to the publication, the serpent, which has two brains but just one of every other vital organ, was born at The Pet Zone in Pennsylvania, United States. In the clip, the snake can be seen writhing around as it explores its handler’s palm.

According to store manager, William Pambianco, one in 10,000,000 snakes born with two heads live past two weeks. But the small corn snake named Gemini has incredibly overcome those odds as it turned six weeks old on August 28. Both heads had been observed trying to go in different directions, but one seemed more dominant.

“Both heads eat,” Pambianco said. “It has eaten five times – the right head three times and the left head twice, so they go back and forth.

“I’m assuming they share one stomach because one head will eat and it does seem to nourish the body.

“So, I’m assuming it’s one stomach, one heart and all the regular organs that would be in a normal snake, but with two heads.

“And there are two brains because the heads operate differently – one tries to go one way, one tries to go the other.

“It looks like the right head is more dominant and pulls the other head where it wants to go.”

The manager went on to explain why these two-headed reptiles are so rare. William said: “About one in every 100,000 will have two heads formed.
