This is a new demonstration of the German far right which took place this Saturday in Chemnitz in the west of Saxony. A rally organized a week after the death of a German, imputed to two migrants. A murder that resulted in a series of violent incidents and exacerbated the xenophobia of the AfD and the Pegida movement.

A counter-demonstration of the left was organized in parallel. More than 1,200 police officers were mobilized.

The parade started with an hour late around 18:00. Several thousand people dressed in black sporting red and gold black flags, the colours of the national flag, silent, in accordance with the instructions of the organizers, responded to the call of the far-right party AfD and the anti-Islam Pegida movement.
