Entertainment rubbish that's feeding tens of thousands of Nigerians and their dependents? These are the ambassadors of Nigeria's cultural soft power to the world. They have done better for us in exposing the world to our wonderful country than any of those in office. Didn't Netflix buy the rights to one of our rubbish recently?

Nigeria is more than a piece of land with borders. The people make up the country. While other people are producing this entertainment which you so easily call "rubbish" (even though entertainment makes up a larg3 chunk of our economy as a nation), why don't you as a Nigerian produce "valuable goods" instead of complaining and waiting for someone else to do so.

Nollywood doesn't contribute even 2% to the Nigerian GDP. You can backup your claim with links or statistics.

As large as Hollywood is ,it contributes only 3% of the American economy.

Oga have you done anything in your life to contribute to even 0.001% of our economy. If it's 2% they're contributing, at least something is being contributed. A whole lot more than can be said for people like you who sit down while complaining that others aren't doing anything. Isn't it Nigerians like you who are acting and directing those movies that make up 2%? If you think you have a better idea, why don't you do something about it and stop your whining??

I didn't say Nollywood contributes 2% ,I said they don't contribute even up-to 2% meaning Nollywood is irrelevant to both our GDP and GNP growth.

Main point is, unless you're doing something bigger or better, don't criticise others who are actually doing something. Nollywood is an industry that provides opportunities to those who have a passion for acting, provides jobs for actors, videographers, directors, makeup artists, photographers, graphic designers etc.
