The Nile originate in East Africa before flowing North.

The White Nile begins in Rwanda and the Blue Nile begins in Ethiopia. Both meet in Khartoum/Sudan (confluence) before flowing North.

Ethiopia is currently building one of the biggest dams ever in Africa. On the Nile. Grid lines are ready to export electricity to Sudan and beyond.
Egypt is very concerned that water flowing up to Egypt will reduce drastically. Egypt relies on the Nile, otherwise it's just a desert. Egyptian farmers are already fretting over irrigation water.

Sudan on the other hand is delighted. Huge power supply and great reduction of the two Niles flooding Khartoum as they meet at the confluence in wet season.
