Ghollywood? Lmao them with their softcore porn, like somebody here mentioned.

Liedetect:

Nigerians seem too interested in Ghana for my liking. I've stated before, Nigeria should leave Ghana and Ghanaians alone and concentrate on the bigger picture. We'v always excelled individually or collectively, when we do, by having no inferiority complex and just going ahead with things. If we start concentrating on small Ghana, however successful they are or may become in future, we'll be dragged down.

Ghana is poison to Nigeria, we should wish them all the best, as Africans, because we as Nigerian have always batted for Africans and blacks generally. Wish them (Ghana) the best, prey for their success in future, but forget them and face the rest of the world.

Remember Oyibo will always use one set of black people to keep another set of more adventurous black people in their place. In my opinion Ghanians seek to take advantage of this oyibo attitude in order to better themselves. They will try to show the western world that they Ghanaians are on their side against  the horrible Nigerians.  In the coming years Ghana cinema, with foreign help, will or may rise to dizzying heights, but Nigerians should not react by running over there, Nigerians should concentrate on their own  cinema, develop the grassroots, invest, pioneer, hustle, innovate and be adventurous as always.

Nigerians are good and bighearted people, straightforward and generous. The nature of things always come around in the end to favor such people so long as they work hard.

cast your eyes to the stars - no pun intended - not to Accra

I agree, completely.

All these people advocating for us to follow the high road by not slamming a fee on the ghanain actors dont under these ghanains.I went to school in Ghana and i was there for 54 years. The average ghanain hates us Nigerians thus they will do anything to undermine nigerian interest, they harass our business men, imposed a minimum capital of $300,000 for any nigerian that want to do business in there country.Nigeria population/market is about 6 times that of ghana so they need us more than we need them so if we impose a fine like they did to us,then their actors become unattractive to our movie financiers like ours would be to theirs, their movies wouldnt have the nigeria audience that they need so badly to survive.they lose the most.

I pity these Ghanaians!!! What they dont know is that for their gollywood to make any profit they actually need Nigeria. The amount Nollywood rakes in is due to the Population of Nigerian both home and in the diaspora who adore these films (Mostly women and Children), the Ghanaians don't have that number (population wise) and the purchasing power (financially) and therefore will only be shooting themselves in the foot coz the producers wont be able to make a profit from selling very few copies of movies they eventually produce.

PS: Ghanaian films are very very very boring.

54yrs lol! u must have luved Ghana tht much lol, n'ywayz, growing up can't rememba hearing Nigeria lol, sow how can the average Ghanaian be hating on Nigerians , its ur mind people, try respecting Ghanaians and all tha hate will vanish stop seeing Ghana as a small country, and look in tha mirror and ask urself this question why do I hate Ghanaians or betta yet why do I think Ghanaians hate us, its prolly becauz of wht som of ur peeps are doing down there tht is giving u tha bad image , tackle tha core issue and tht core issue is tht some of u guyz pride urselves in wht u think is surviving by any means possible(if its in a good way no P.) some of y'all mistake hustlin' wit "do and die" , holla! wink

I  know a lot of Nigerians in Ghana who are enjoying they stay, don know where some of these who claim to have lived in Ghana b4 get their hate from, meaning they all lies, ask tht OVATION man abt it, by tha way am an ACHIMOTA SCHOOL BOY I had a lot of Naija pals from tht good ol' school, wink

HEY OTUM4
Why dont you shut your trap and go to ghanaweb and claim your holier than thou over there, THIS IS NAIRALAND just in case you cant read.
I lived in Ghana, as an actor and a movie director{emorat productions and GPMH} Both in Accra and Kumasi respectively, i know how i was being treated
i knew what i went through before i was able to work, so when i say you Ghanaian are haters and hypocrites i know what am talking about, do you know how many Ghanaian that are in Nigerian cells, or even lagos state alone?? but no Nigerian man or woman will blame any Ghanaian on the streets for what some other Criminal did just because they are both Ghanaian, i dont blame you, if not for the thieves in our government thats making Nigeria un-livable for almost everyone.
And what class would you put EFIEWURA?? there are thousands of TWI movies that wont go through the Nigeria censor board not to talk of entering the market.
So if you wanna defend your self, go do that on ghanaweb and get off nairaland cos you are off your boundaries on here ,
WAI,

otum get over yourself. who told you we're obsessed about you guys? this topic has been opened since morning and it still has less than fifty replies. for a thread that's been on the homepage, that's quite poor. is that a sign sign that naija gets excited when a ghana related thread is open?
and who insulted you? should we lie that your movies does not have flat storylines and disturbing explicit scenes? to make you feel better about your industry? heck no!

I was in ghana a few months ago for an entrance exam to a university in finland, and i was realy amazed at wat i saw. You could see developments evrywia u went.the roads, the house arrangements the state of their infrastructures.it was just too real.at a point i felt tears well in my eyes wen i juxtapose this city wit lagos.for a start the university refusd to conduct d exam in naija due to malpractise wen it last brout it to naija in 2006.and see the over 3000 of us nigerians there to write that exam.ghana is neva d issue, if our scums cald leaders hv bin true to this nation d lyks of OTUM's tongues will never wag.afteral we are a bunch of corrupt buffons.chek out the road blocks b/w seme boarder and mile2 and u see wat am sayin. bt i know a generation is comin that wil hold their fate in their own hands and will make this nation great again.i dream of it evryday-its my passion

And when are you going to juxtapose 'Ghana' with "Abuja" or "Calabar"?

This reminds me of the blind men who went to see the elephant in the zoo, they imagine the elephant to be the part they touch and felt. For your information, those so roads and traffic light you see and hail as infrastructure are all what Ghana is about. Ghana is simple all about Accra (some part of Accra really). Minus the 'steady' power supply, Ghana is nothing to write home about.

Iyasyah or whatever, you are an idiot. You travelled to Accra,a small part of Ghana and perhaps the only developed city there and u claim u wept for Nigeria because of dis-orderly Lagos? Have u been to Abuja lately?, Kaduna,Kano,Port Harcourt, even Jos? Abeg, go sit down somewhere,Goat!
Re: Ghana Slams $1,000 Fee On Nigerian Actors by jrtorrents: 11:13pm On Jul 05, 2010
how stupid can people be ,
this whole story is a bunch of lies has anybody checked?
Just read from the website, you will wonder why there is no author to the story.
Am a Ghanaian and I know how people live on Nigeria-Ghana "conflicts".
By the way I have seen lots of people make some uneducated comments,
the Ghanaian movie industry started even before Nigeria got its independence,
the first film institute in the whole of Africa was set up in Ghana and its know as NAFTI.
Maybe Nigeria was better at doing commercial movies but Ghana has more classic movies which no Nigerian movies could eve match,
Movies like, "I told you so", Love brewed in an African pot, Heritage Africa and a whole lot. I wonder if anybody could tell me of any Nigerian movies which can beat these Ghanaian classics.

PS. there are lot more Niegrians in Ghana than the vice versa

@Aglah1976
FESAC Isn't a film institute, NAFTI is the first film institute in Sub-Saharan Africa.
s you can speak a bit of Twi, you would know these Ghanaian classics are good, tell your fellow Nigerians that the Ghanaian cinema
started long before some of you think.

Well I think the chickens have come home to roost. Ghanians were once in Nigeria remember? helping our education sector, now decades later,  the table is turned and we are upset about it. I think we deserve it. We should even show a little shame that we have to produce Nigerian movies in a country like Ghana. More so a ppl we humiliated decades ago. Now u want them to forget? For what?

Pls we need more of this kind of bullshit. Bring it on!!!

Nigeians should make Nigeria better.

Yeah, they got independence 1st, I remember when 1,000,000cedis was equal to #1,000 naira.
The average ghananian has no problem with Nigeria, its the ghananian govt. They think its a competition or they can be better than us. even their past president was a big fan of Nigeria, but their current govt are just haters [its worrying that they're just hating only Nigeria; I don't know if they're tryin to start a war, they're really stupid, instead of nollywood[well-developed] to be charging them, ghollywood [recently hrd of them, even the 'wood' dosent fit it,] its the other way round. Y HATE ON NIGERIANS

The relationship of Ghana and Nigeria has always been the case of an adult and the kid. Sometimes is good to give them a bite back let them see how it hurts

I don't even blame Ghanaians rather i blame the actors and actress that goes there to join them in that drama they are presenting. Has anyone watched Ghana drama(movie) recently? These Nigerian guys should be ashamed of themselves, instead aiming for holywood they are aiming at Ghana drama industry. Very soon Nigerian actors and actresses will be rushing also to Liberia to get acting jobs. We no dey shame again.
Re: Ghana Slams $1,000 Fee On Nigerian Actors by brilantio: 2:57pm On Jul 06, 2010
Ask those who're producing movies in SA, USA OR UK if they pay a kobo to do it, its small ghana u'll pay $1000.
Re: Ghana Slams $1,000 Fee On Nigerian Actors by CGKing(m): 3:04pm On Jul 06, 2010
Well, I knew for certian Ghanians were excellent teachers and then schools seemed to have alot of Ghanians in their staff, back then when I was in Primary school. We had a good number of them too. I dont know what else they did but i loved Ghanian teachers, heck my parents even brought em home for after school lessons.

Tell me, if they werent that good, they wouldnt be sort after like they were as compareed to their Nigerian counterparts. That would only mean they were impacting the education sector positively. Then we sent them packing saying they stole our jobs and stuff. . .

Plssssss guys, the very same thing is what is happening right now, only they arent sending us packing. They just wan chop inside. y' know now.
