They need to cause apart from been a moral boost it also serve as hope so u have an ideal of the num of American soldiers dat dies each year they are in their thousands but u won't see dem ever showing a bad picture towards it ... I agree. They know where their camps are located. Aid workers go to these camps to give those boko boys drugs. In fact there are communities in Borno where the army has banned bread or soft drinks because boko haram members come there to buy. They know all these and still..

How much so you think it costs to build, send off a satellite and maintain it?

Is if economically viable to just have a satellite for military purposes or for combined use?

Weapons grade military hardware isn't cheap. The more modern the more expensive.

I honestly don't think boko haram are that much of a threat as they used to be thanks to weapons upgrades gotten by pmb.

Also we are bit limited with top notch equipment. If we had access to satellite imagery, we would be able to pin point their locations and gatherings. That is one huge edge advanced nations like USA have that we don't .

its funny that with the billions and zillions of dollars the Federal govt has sunk on security they are unable to aquire the so called top notch equipments.

Sorry oga I totally disagree, though you are right on some portion( intelligence & logistics), there is something wrong with military upper echelons, they refused to order troops to assault boko haram locations & make our troops to be on defensive always, which sucks as playing turtle all the time is a terrible idea in a guerilla warfare. Ask any soldier on the frontlines

You can't carry out a blind assault. That is why intelligence and satellite imagery is key.

When you wish to take the fight to the enemy, you need to know what you most likely would be up against so you would not be defeated.

We need really long distance reconnaissance drones more than anything

If you're being objective, you will know that this is definitely a never ending war.

We have to accept that Boko Haram is a threat that is never going away..

Besides there is so much money to be made innit. .....
