Double Dealing: SDP candidate Omisore Arrested! by KikBuhari2Daura: 7:49am On Sep 27, 2018 |
Double Dealing Omisore Arrested News filtering on from Ile Ife Osun Indicate that the marriage between the beautiful bride of the last 72 hours and her suitors might have gone very sour. Residents are reporting that security agents have picked up Dr Iyola Omisore the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP following his alleged double dealing with Both the APC and PDP. Residents had reported sporadic shooting by the police yesterday evening which forced many to scamper for safety but it appears Omisore was arrested with little or No resistance by his supporters in the wee hours of the morning. It will be recalled that the leadership of the SDP has last night dissociated itself from the alleged alliance . In a statement released and signed by the National Publicity secretary Alhaji Alfa Mohammed the party stated that: The Social Democratic Party (SDP) would like to make it categorically clear that the National Leadership of the party was not part of the recent developments involving our party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore of Osun State, and the conclusions arrived at. We remain irrevocably committed to serving the Nigerian people on the basis of the vision, principles and goals of social democracy which underlie the philosophy of our great party, the SDP. See Source :http://www.observerstimes.com/news/breaking-news-osun-re-run-election-sdp-distances-self-from-omisore/ Yesterday also the police was reported to have said it is in possession of "intelligence report” that has uncovered a plot by armed political thugs to disrupt the poll. Voting would would hold in seven polling units in four local government areas of the state. Joshak Habila, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in Charge of Operations and Security Coordinator for the Osun governorship election, disclosed this on Wednesday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. Habila said some disgruntled politicians bent on causing violence during the election had already recruited and started arming the political thugs to unleash mayhem in polling units where the election will hold. “We have an intelligence report that there is a grand plan to turn the election gruesomely violent and deadly by arming thugs to unleash mayhem at polling centres,” he disclosed. Although he did not declare the number of policemen deployed for the supplementary poll, he pointed out that security agencies have been sent to protect lives and property of residents of the state while the exercise lasts. Habila explained that the Police had agreed to work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure that the rerun election is conducted peacefully and there is no breakdown of law and order. He said: “Those of them preparing for ‘fire for fire’ must be ready to bear the consequences of their actions which are designed to undermine this particular democratic process. “It should be noted that the Nigeria Police Force will remain proactive and would not rest on its oars in its task to decode the identities of those democratic enemies. “Residents are requested to be law abiding and go about their lawful duties without fear and with the full assurance of the protection of law abiding citizens and voters who are out there to exercise their franchise.” He, however, stressed that only eligible voters with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and other personnel with authentic accreditation would be allowed near the units where the supplementary poll would take place. I thought the party leadership would just allow him have his way, just like that. He's the most foolish man I've ever seen. How can a guber candidate in an inconclusive race choose to openly support a particular party in an election in which he's a candidate representing a party under which he's received the support of many. Omisore isn't the owner of sdp but a candidate who could be booted out by the party leadership anytime. What he did is a clear proof that he doesn't have any capacity to govern , neither does he have the charisma to lead osun people. He simply did what he did to disgrace the party leadership and for his selfish reasons. I hope after the arrest, he'd be jailed to serve as a deterrent to others. That's why i don't trust all these politicians. They're only after their selfish interests. None of them is willing to serve. He could have supported any party secretly instead of coming out. Omisore's vote and that of his family cannot save the apc, neither can it bring the pdp to history. He has disappointed his supporters and the party do that presented him. 10 Likes |

idu1:cry, how? Where did I say he's foolish because he didn't support pdp? What he did is a great electoral offence. Pdp or apc, he ought to have kept his support secret whilst assuring the supported party of history. If he wasn't a candidate, he could declare his intention openly. 2 Likes |
